Re: BRAND NEW Larson from dealer - Not NEW!

O.K. Did the salesman take the temp tag with the owners permission or without the owners permission. I am sure glad he didn't have a accident of some kind with it. The claim would have went on for ever. I am sure the owner of the company wouldn't eat a law suit for a employee that took a boat (with his family) without permission or “stole it”.

Temp tag or not the hour meter said "0". That would be like a dealer taking a demo car and selling it as having 0 miles, fradulent and illegal.

Someone must take responsibility for this.
Hope that the dealer is co-operating with you and your attorney.
Do you think that the salesperson was set up?
Leaving a camera load of evidence smells fishy to me.
The boat obviously was not new when you took delivery of it.
Sounds like the salesperson is in deep water.
Hope he has a good lifejacket.
Larson definately need to be involved whatever the situation.
From another post be prepared for a long drawn out affair. See Suds saga and the other well known boat.
You will need time to read this.
Hopefully your situation will be resolved quickly.

Well rhinohorn what did you find out, true the salesman was fraudulent when he sold you a boat with 0 hours on the meter and a camera full of pics.showing him and his family running your boat and obvious damage they tried to cover up what have you found out? I hate the supense, kind of like watching a soap opera that never ends

What I was trying to explain was that a boat dealer has temp stickers to run a new boat without actually regestering it ( supposed to be for demo purposes) not to that a boat that has all ready been sold as new for a joy ride. Sorry for the confusion. :D

Re: BRAND NEW Larson from dealer - Not NEW!

Hey everyone! I love the soap opera metaphore. I say more like a Steven King novel! What is that saying? "All's well that ends well?"

I received a call from the dealership owner this morning and he said that he had a solution to "my" boat problem. After his discussion with Larson, yesterday afternoon, our BRAND NEW 2004 LXi 210 will be on the assembly line on June 1st and the build-up will be complete on June 7th. Coordinating with EZ Loader for the new trailer will take a couple of days as will delivery, but we should have our new boat delivered by mid June!

The dealer added (not Larson), that we may have complete use of the boat in our possesion until our replacement boat arrives, and that our new boat will be set up EXACTLY like our original including the color-matched Keel Guard that I purchased. Our last conversation drove home the fact that I could not let this issue rest, and the final phone conversation I had last night was with my attorney. She was ready to start "playing Hardball!" The tone was much different today and I don't know if Larson's direct involvement, or the owner of this well-established dealership (40 plus years) decided to save the reputation of his business, but either way, things are working out.

We are forever greatful to Larson for any input they had, and this proves to me that they indeed do feature the customer service that we have heard so much about. I must admit that the owner of this dealership also seems to be going above and beyond, as I would hope he would do, at this point. I made it clear that if I accepted this offer, that I would not have to deal with the original salesperson, either on the phone (we are 2 hours away) or in person because of the hard feelings shared by both of us, and that he would not have anything to do with work on our boat. The owner stated that ALL our dealings would be handled between he and I. This made me feel better.

Because the dealer is coming through on this problem, and the fact that Larson became involved so quickly, I feel that I need to be fair and show the same respect for both Larson and their dealers. Therefore, I will not post who this dealer is at this time. I'm sorry, as I wanted to do nothing more only yesterday. But as I said I must be fair also. If someone feels like this dealer may come into play, please email me and I will disclose the information. I honestly feel that the dealer is trying to do right by us even if it took a little pushing.

Thank you to everyone who became involved in this! Your input and support was invaluable to us and I truely hope that this type of situation can be avoided by future boat buyers. Sites like this do work and I'll stay involved and help where I can as well. Again, please email me with any questions or concerns. We boat buyers/owners MUST stick together. Hurray! for Larson.

Sounds like they're stepping up and doing the right thing. Enjoy the new boat when it arrives. Be sure to check it for disposable cameras! :D HA!

Good one Steve! Thanks for the humor. Our house has been lacking that for a couple of days! Rhino

Good to hear rhinohorn :)
Capn Mike... what on Earth makes you think us canucks have all the fat chicks? I bet you've had a few pairs of extra large panties on your backseat before... eh'? Just like you're in denial about it
Out of curiosity, how did you remove the stains from the seat and the HUGE cheek marks from the glass in your AMC Pacer?
(joke dude, be happy) :)

Re: BRAND NEW Larson from dealer - Not NEW!

The one thing that bothers me about the outcome of this matter is that the salesman was not fired.

This leads me to believe that the owner knew of or condones such practices. In either case I would not, under ANY circumstances, do bussiness (warranty or otherwise) with this dealership after delivery of the new boat.

Kudos to Larson.

Glad to hear the owner did the right thing to make things right. Couldn't ask for much more than that. Hope you don't let it sour the feeling of buying a new boat too much. Like I said I'm sure the cheese ball salesman will get whats coming to him.

Had I been the dealership owner, I would have fired the salesman.

Unless he is the best darn salesman in the office.

Was his name Bill Brasky????

http://www.angelfire.com/nd/billbrasky/

Ken

At least Larson / dealer took care and DID something.

Good for you it's not a Chaparral as that obviously would have left you in deep, sticky, stinking sh1t!
