It seems Bush finally has realized that there was absolutely no evidence of any connection between Saddam and 9/11. Even Rummy has. We are still waiting on Cheney, but then he is slow on the uptake.<br /><br />I still don't understand why he is still giving speeches suggesting that we no longer have to worry about Saddam providing WMD's to terrorists.<br /><br />Why exactly should we have been worried about him giving something he did not possess to people he did not like and had no connection with? Unfortunately, Bush does not explain that in his speech. At least not yet.<br /><br />If it were me, and I was worried about terrorists getting WMD's (and I am) I'd worry more about places like Russia that have those weapons everywhere, and lots of people running around more than willing to sell them to anyone if they could get their hands on them.<br /><br />But that's just me, I guess. I am more concerned with real threats that make believe ones.

No flame intended, My $0.02:<br /><br />The ends DO justify the means. Had the Japanese possessed a nuclear weapon before we did, they would have dropped it on us in WWII. So too would Saddam. Any ruler who supported a society whereby his own sons could kidnap an unsuspecting female citizen, take her to the palace and repeatedly rape her all night, drop her off the next morning God knows where, and do this repeatedly for decades... Good riddance. Would you mother/sister/wife/girlfriend enjoy that society? Would you support it?<br /><br />Bush has a consistent 55% approval rating which is better than the average President has had over the past 30 years. I'm all for getting rid of derelicts like Saddam. How to keep the next barbarian out? That's the challenge. It's going to take time, and we've only been there less than 6 months. It took DECADES for the citizens of Japan and Germany to trust the US.

regardless of reasons given to go into iraq, one reason is very justifiable imo. <br />and the reason is--global energy stability--<br />read an article about a major pipe line (oil) project nearing completion to med. sea port.<br />author wrote that this project was of huge importance to entire global economy--mainly those countries who most consume oil--ie: china, japan, USA, etc--those that produce the commodities that the "world" as a whole consume. (acknowledge that plastic is made from oil).<br />the authors position was that political stability in the middle east region is of huge importance to global economy and sodom insane was a known threat. <br />additionaly, myself could not comprehend what the pos sodom and his gang did to civilians--the savagry this turd unleashed on his people. imagine--USA citizen living under the conditions sodom imposed on his citizens

PW, lets get the facts straight. First of all the Bush administration has never said the Iraq was involved in 9/11. He has only said that they have ties to Al Queda (sp?). In his speech you are speaking of Bush again says that Iraq had nothing to do with Iraq (and now the part you and all the libs like to leave out) but, they do have ties to Al Queda. If you want to spin your facts to make your point about our just involvement with Iraq, go ahead, most of us are smart enough to see right through it. Just curious PW, did you read or hear this speech, or are you just repeating what all the lib leaders have been saying all day?

The media drops a newsflash on us saying "Bush admits Saddam not part of 911". The media spun it too, because they conclude Saddam had nothing to do with 911. The Bush quote was we dont have evidence that links Saddam to 911. You Plywoody don't have evidence to conclude that he didn't have something to do with it. This is exactly where we've been. Also Pwoody, you get bent when we don't extend the benefit of doubt to the likes of Saddam when the evidence is not clear as we like. I am shocked that you would risk your homeland to give the likes of Saddam the benefit of the doubt.

just an imo from a newer person here at iboats--<br />i mod at a outdoor sports site that is pretty conservative----(i do reloading ammo topic)<br />most folks there are real--don't take offence--embraced with their opinions--strong stances, etc.<br />on occasion some pot stirrer comes along, loves to see his post, thread, whatever build huge reply numbers. this person will generally post some type of topic (after kinda looking at what the general atmosphere of the board is) to stir the pot and get folks to flaming board members who are pretty active and sociable. eventually, admin at board say enough is enough, boot stirrer. ---<br />however, some long time members go nuts flamming and get booted as well.<br /><br />---anyhooo--my boy GB is right on the money getting rid of SH----

I like beer . I don't drink a lot of it because of health concernes it induces. but I enjoy a good beer from time to time.<br />This does not mean that ol 12Footer will drink any beer he sees. As a MOF, I'm quite picky, choosing brands like sammy Adams, over brands such as Groelsh....Hell, the name allone (Groelsh) should warn you..."Drink 4 of these, and you'll be singing our praises over a porcellan rim, I.E;."Groelsh!! oh my god---GROELSH".<br />But I want to redirect this post somewhat back on course, in due time;<br />I don't like some foriegn brands of beer, such as Hieneken shudder-bite-after-tasting,nasty nasty even chilled to 33degrees.. I know, some of you love that stuff,and the Germans are known for great beers, but that stuff is absolutelyy undrinkable unless you're allready wasted, at which time, you shouldn't be drinking any further anyhow!<br />Americans make some crappy stuff too, like PBR, Milwaukees Best the list goes on. Now, given the fact that I consider myself a beer lover, I don't want to be ruled by camel jockeys who not only don't like beer, but were they to make some, it would taste like WMD waste, and have a layer of silt on the bottom of the bottle! This is seriously uncool!<br />So I bring this topic full-circle BACK on subject to which it began, lest we as americans, be forced to drink "Ala's Ale" or some such abomination unto the brewmiester...Ain't happenin on my watch!<br />So we must support our military, from the treasury that buys thier blankies, to the president,who gives the command that sets them into motion. hey 12footer...I dont even drink beer and I say not on my watch either. Bush is right on and as far as im concerned if there is a threat we need to take care of it before something like 9/11 happens again. It doesnt matter if he(saddam ) was part of it or not ...he supported it and if you support my people being murdered then watch out. Bush and his father, Bush sr. are the only presidents in my life time to take care of bussiness when needed. And plywoody what Bush finally gets should be the support of his country.I for one, 100% support him.
