Pw2: I dont think they are facing any barrage! They are allowed to exist and work and join yacht clubs without any persecution.

I just dont see why a group would want to force this crud down throats. Their big cry has always been that they were born this way. They should not, therefore be threatened that their way of life is going to disappear withoout constant media and political bombardment. They should give it a flaming rest.

Sorry I let that go for over 24 hours without the deserved attention. LMAO

With that noted, there was a headline in the LA Times yesterday that said "Diocese to Choose Heterosexual Bishop". It was a continuation from a front page story, but still . . . It was written like a Hetero Bishop was the exception and since the area in question was San Francisco, how could they actually have a hetero Bishop? Pretty dern weird.

\Quote\ "They are allowed to exist"

Now that's mighty big of you, allowing them to exist. You'all have a meeting and decide that, or what? Was it a close vote?

What ever happened to the "don't ask don't tell" philosophy.I ain't asking but I'm getting told a lot.Seems the only ones that are making distinctions between gays and heteros are the gays.I guess they just need the attention.

I guess it would be called justifying their existences? Make it a law therefore it is legit; next it will be the norm in there dreams. Our nightmares.

OB,

What about all of the measures on ballots all over the country attempting to deny basic rights of citizens, like unions of committed couples, adoption rights, et al, based solely on their sexuality.

You may not like it, and that's your right to disapprove. You don't (or should not) have the right to deny the right to the legal benefits, and a fulfilled life to others based solely on your disapproval of their sexuality.

PW2,

I can figure, with 99.9% accuracy, your side of almost any topic, and you mine. :)

With that said, on this topic why don't we just outlaw/ban ANY benefits to any TWO that decide to:
marry, cohabitate, unite, etc.?

Let's go all individual. You stand on your OWN merits and what we call a family no longer exists. Let's just toss out 6000 years of history, because we are so bright and progressive.

That seems fair. Otherwise, we continue down this road of seperation and unwillingness to get along.

A society without beliefs and standards cannot prevail. There has to be a line-somewhere.

History tells us that. We have chosen to ignore human nature. To our peril.

PW,I don't disapprove or approve of anything that anyone else wants to do as it pertains to their sexuality.I frankly don't care to know what ones sexual preference even is.However ,some men of the gentle persuasion seem to come on just a bit too heavy with the swishy swashy ,if you know what I mean.Sorta like a guy that is sporting a new Rolex that can't seem to keep his wrist out of ones face.

As far as the issue on denial of ones rights ,based solely on ones sexual preference,I don't feel 'is' fair.I however, draw a line at some point when it comes to the issue of same sex couples adopting children.Particularly, two gents.Call me narrow minded if you must, but that's my opinion.

My kids are grown and self supportive now ,but just hypothetically speaking,if I were to have a gay man in his thirties or forties as a next door neighbor,I would be just a bit edgy if he were to fratinize regularly with one of my young impressionable children. If that's not mainstream ideology, then I guess I'm just out of the loop.

Most young kids today use the term gay to describe something they dont like or wont do...instead of saying " that sucks" now alot just say "thats gay" or "How gay" meaning they disapprove of whatever the behavior is in question..

talk about backlash....It will soon be proposed that to use the term is a hate crime. Mark my words PW and co.

What is your point, OJ?

Are you saying today's parents are doing a good job of teaching their own intolerance to their children?

OB, I also raised children that are now grown, and trying to protect our children from harm, real and imagined, is the parent's greatest challenge. I have no idea whether gay parents would be any more prone to abusing children than any other group, but my sense is that if it were widespread and prevalent, we would somehow hear about it.

Of course, I too was careful where I allowed my children, especially when young, to visit. I am not exactly sure what marital status, or sexual orientation would have to do with it, one way or another.

Textbook far-left buzz words. If you don't agree with what we think, you're "intolerant".

So what? I am supposed to respect him more because he's gay?

Why can't you just stand on your own merits?

What's next, reparations for homos?

PW, I'm simply making an observation. My kids and I play online games with kids and adults lately, and the term gay is used more than ever. Sometimes the winner is called gay. Kind of like a term of endearment or honor. I have to admit, it sounds better than " you suck!"..

Yes, I've heard my kids say it. What should I do censor them? I mean their boys, young men, I ban profanity but I cant keep up with the liberaly PS no nos.

Gay means gay right? help me here PW.. :(

No I dont use the term, I dont remember hearing an adult using it either. But what should we do about it and why..

exchange the word for girly or sissy, thats about what it equates to in these exchanges during gaming competition. Tell me where to draw the line PW. and give me an example of a situation where your father did the same.

When something at work is broke, we say it is gay. If something is really broke,(or someone has a dumb idea) we say that it is Liberache (sp?) gay.
If we suspect that it is broken, we say "I fear its *****" We have other degrees of gayness, but they wouldnt last 2 seconds on here, so Ill not say them.
:D
