Ha :D

I just wonder what they're gonna do about the street legal golf carts in the parks..since it's supposed to be a 'zero-tolerance' enforcement. Hope they don't go that zero

Nothing to fear.... If they can't enforce the lake stickers, littering, etc, etc, how are they going to enforce seat belts

I could see it though, a "seat belt trap" set up by the park LEO's,,, just waiting for an ol' dude to go cruising by in his golf cart. Write him up for no seat belts  Probably cuff-n-stuff him too, just for good measure :D

funny...Although I have seen them wait for us to leave the little bar at night to drive the cart back to the trailer which is a few hundred yards away, and that's another story. But see, at Temple Bar they don't have much to do after hours and sometimes I kinda get the idea that they're a little p.o'd about being placed in what they probably consider b.f.e....so what do they do? I think it's kind of a game to them sometimes. In a way I can't blame them cause hey, they're only human...

We've got a great group of officers out at T-Bar now. They're very friendly and I'm sure they're not looking into the seat belt law that deep, but I'm sure not taking any unnecessary risks, that's for sure...

I hope they read the last part!:D

Many many rangers on mead and then sometimes i dont see any.The ones in the boats are cool!! It depends on the individual officer though. many are very nice and have compassion, and love the lake just like us .Once got pulled over for hitting that white line twice just before the fee station. Its funny if i were a ranger i know what bad guys do and where they hang out i wouldnt waste my time pullin over people for missing tail lights and little stuff,i know sometimes this leads to bigger things but just go get the bigger things dont be scared.Maybe a mead ranger will respond to this one day, if there allowed.

Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada

I thought you were talking about Grand Wash Bay up in the Gregg basin when you first posted that, I'd love to bet back there as it's an isolated "lake" right now.

I've been back in "lost lake" a couple times when the lake was full. You're right about it being glass when the main lake is snotty. Last time I tried to get up there, 5-6 years ago, I was idling up the channel in chocolate milk and decided to head back before my prop found something...

I was up in the Overton Arm about a month ago and it was really murky in the north end, lots of debris in the water too. I checked the prop when we got home and it had a new ding, little one, lots of twigs and junk floating around.

Hey Jax, good to see you drop in again.

Grand Wash Bay is so colorful too, compared to Lost Lake. I think they have changed GWB to a no wake zone now, so even if the lake goes up we won't be able to ski in there. Looking forward to getting back in there though, regardless.

I usually won't go in the murk unless it's heading up the Grand Canyon where you don't have a choice. Last season my daughter was driving and we got in a little gravel reef idling forward in the marina headed into the sun. I was sitting in the bow and didn't see it till the last minute - too late - just got my props back from the prop shop with a nice $400 bill. They really weren't bad, I just thought I would have them make em look purdy again, ha

Whatchoo talkin; 'bout Willis ^^^^^^

I know I preach that a low lake is fun and good and similar and more beaches, but not sure what's better low in your post? Boulder Harbor?

Oh, Hi Jax . . . :)

Anyone launching from calville bay be aware of the shallow rock formation back in red rock area cove, just outside the marina on port side if heading east, about the size of a car only 2ft under water. It is not marked and many fisherman go in that area at night.would make a nice ding in your boat even if your just pushin water.

Had a nice long Memorial Weekend at Temple Bar. Got some interesting old pics too..

1) Temple Bar, circa early 1950's
2) Don't get caught towing the boat with people in it from now on unless you're on the ramp
3) Temple Bar at full pool, circa 1983
4) Sat night at the Temple 'Bar'
5) Gregg Basin looking north toward Sandy Point

Man missing near Calville, presumed drowned: CLICKY

I was at calville bay on this terrible night,i looked for him as well as the other 2 people from 8pm till 3am and found nothing.Im glad the other 2 were found alive clinging to a life vest but the boat owner was never found! The news is giving different stories of what happened. The rangers looked for him till almost 1am and looked hard.I cant stress the importance of wearing a life jacket anytime you jump in the lake from a boat, sounds funny but just the littlest thing like saving your friends life can come in a moments notice. Its up to us boat owners to always make the right call and play safe to where we seem like nerds because its our job to always be ready! read the clicky the two men jumped in to save a man from a float tube????and then it all floated away!!more to this story coming up!I was at the launch ramp where a girl was crying and screaming that only someone who has lost a loved one would understand.was she on the shore or in the boat when this happened? Its all in the details with devastating news like this.

It sounds like they probably weren't tethered to the tube or boat and with the afternoon wind most likely blowing, separated them. It's happened many times before. That was awesome of you to help out. Sorry it turned out the way it did. What a tragedy that probably could have been avoided.

Like all of us boat owners, he probally left the other 2 behind with the life jacket, and knowing this, swam for the boat, but in the water things seem closer than they really are! I am sure he gave it his all!!!May God be with his family through these trying times.
