Original owner family of a 1962 Chrysler 20 HP. Has run like a top forever and always babied.
Flooding horribly so I have removed carb and brought back home with me.
1. Fixed high idle
2. lowidle adjustment on front.

Have tried every possable setting on low idle, fuel still pukes out hole on side. If I disconnect fuel hose 4-5 pulls starts right up and purrs, as soon as I reconnect hose starts to flood out and force fuel out the side. Smokes like crazy yet the skeeters still live!

Float is the round donught style.

From what I can read here sounds like sticky float? Yet seems to move freely........

I am 2+ hrs away from lake and just have carb.

Thinking I should rebuild and be done with it!

Should I replace float assembly as well?

Any suggestions and or diagrams would be appreciated.

The walleye are biting and hope to be back on the lake by next weekend!

The floatneedle is stuck or not seated propely. Tear the carb down and clean it, check the needle by looking at the tip. Should not be worn and also take a look at the seat. Depending of typ the tip can be of rubber or brass.

Put the carb together and turn it upsidedown. Try to blow through the inlet......no, invert the carb and try to blow trough the intel again.......yes.

Thank you! I will see if I can find a diagram or drawing on line as I haven't had a carb apart for many years.
Being so far away from parts when at the lake, would you advise rebuilding? To be on the safe side....
