Serial number are worn off the sticker engine so ??? on that
ok After reading through many threads I came up to a solution for my low RPMS I THOUGHT: rebuild my carbs, I did that still no rpms over 3000. So read some more. Look at electrical issues I read so I look at my stator; it is red, I have replaced the regulator due to a melt down some time ago last year. So I take a look at the coils as Calledinsick threads read. Ahh haa 2 out of the three have cores that are broke. So I replace them. Bummer still no high RPMS. Unplugged the rev limiter to check that nothing happens same old story. So now I have got out my multimeter and start to check the stator and trigger Ohms here there readings.
Stator:
683 on 2k scale -- Green/white to white/green-- clymer says this is way out of range for the original black one
Trigger:
1232 Brown to white/black--clymer says this is in range
1601 white to violet--clymer says this is too high
So is the Red stator supposed to Ohm the same as the original black one?
I don't have a 1000 range on my meter as Clymer says to use so I went to 2K AND I'm not real sure on how to use this thing anyway. Instructions please. You know boys and there toys thing.
Has anyone heard of the red stator going bad?
Although I'm not the one who converted this over to the red stator, it does seem like the parts (or at least the wires) coming out from the under the flywheel are very clean like everything had been replaced, but who knows for sure I guess.
