I have a 1992 Mariner OB.I dont know much about outboards just enough to get them winterized and then get them going in the spring.I do know something about car engines. I tried to start it after de-winterizing. After turning the key it only hummed but woudlnt turn over so I replaced the battery. When I tried to restart it it was flooded-so I removed the plugs cleaned them off and it started right up. When I got it to the water it started and ran just fine for about 10 minutes then the constant alarm started going off.I didnt even know it had alarms. (Told you I didnt know about outboards.!! )Anyways I got where I was going shut it down and fished for a couple hrs and it started right up no problem. However after about 2 minutes the constant alarm started again. When I tried to power up the engine acted like it was going to die out but it would run on low throttle enough to get me to dock. There was a steady stream of water coming from the pee-hole so I thought that was fine.Any ideas what I should start checking?
