Polished all the fishing rods, changed all the lines, re-organized the tackle box, made new sinkers, but all I can do is just look at the boat. It won't be long now, I think we've seen the last of the snow here (knock on wood). Now it's mud season.

Mud Season . . . that's funny cause thats exactly what I have here. Even if I wanted the pull the boat from the side of the garage I couldn't. It'll take another week or two before the ground is firm enough.

Check out an ice storm came through and tore branches off the trees and broke the fences in many places.

When a utility truck came by to repair some wires it sunk right in.
Yep, it's going to be a while longer for that ground to dry out.

Was hoping to pull boat onto the driveway this weekend so I could start pulling out the steering cable so I can replace it with the Teleflex no feed back design. But I think it''ll sink in right up to the axle. Maybe another week or two yet.

We lost a significant amount of snow today :) My property is showing almost 20% of the ground and the snow has been reduced down to less than 6" (mostly ice under it).

I'm looking forward to the day I get to pull the snowplow off the truck for the season.

We had set a new record low temperature here this morning; -26F / -32 C :mad:

With this recent blast of record lows and snowfall, it feels like we're still in the deep of winter in January... makes boating feel sooooo far away.

C'mon sunshine!!!!

I'm going next Saturday, don't care about the weather as I have a camper top and heater.

Got the new troller on and will wire it this weekend, finish a couple odds and ends and I am ready.

I would probably go this weekend but I part time at my fishing buddies body shop and we are buried in work(Amen brother) and we need to get out 3 more cars by tuesday to be caught up.

With things like they are I am certainly not going to complain about too much work, doing 3 days at the boat shop and 3 days at the body shop btu I am do a fishing trip for sure.

Try using a snowmobile:D

Works good at walleye speeds but can't drill the holes fast enough for salmon LOL:D

BobVT: You must be in the Sunshine Belt of Vermont.:) I walked to my boat yesterday (stored under cover at a friends house) and sunk over my knee in drifts for the last 40 feet. However, the warm weather got rid of all the snow on the cover from the last snowstorm. -happy-

My fishing buddy made a couple of gallons of Vermont Gold yesterday too- that's a good sign. By the looks, Saturday should be a real good run.

I made it out on Sunday, balmy 38-40 degrees. No floats at the ramp so I had someone come along to help.

This time of year, the water can be quite calm. An added bonus is no lobster buoys. Down side is one needs to watch for ice.

Saw only 4 boats all day; two ferries, one water taxi and a single lobster boat.

A great 3 hr cruise.

P.S. On Monday we received 3 inches of snow.

I just made that Maine shot my desktop. Looks great in the stretch mode. Fills the whole screen. It looks just like the top of my Merc anyway :)

This will keep me on focus each time I'm on my laptop and help get me through March :D

Well, I went out this past weekend, and plan to do the same this one.
The past two weeks we have seen around 70+ (This past weekend was 82 on Sunday afternoon). This weekend looks great too. Shwoing 86-88 in the forecast for Sat. and Sun. To bad I have to work most of the day Saturday or I would go the coast.
