Crank seal kit for a 1964 Johnson 40hp

1964 40 HP Johnson Super Sea Horse Model # RDSL-26R
I've exhausted all other possibilities...pulling off the powerhead today. I'm looking for the correct crank seals.

Part # 18-4330
For:
40-75 HP
Applies for Johnson/Evinrude engines

Is this the correct seal kit for a 1964 RDSL-26R Johnson 40hp?

Part # 18-4330
For:
40-75 HP
Applies for Johnson/Evinrude engines

No. I don't think there is a seal "kit" for your motor. You have to order individual parts from a dealer. The lower seal is a carbon seal with a quad ring inside it. Not much goes wrong with them unless it is broken or fallen apart.

What problem is it you're trying fix?

You want the proper tool for changing that upper seal. You can damage that crankcase beyond repair if you get heavy handed.
