Back when men were men and you could actually buy what they raced.
Time and money, and yes, you, I repeat, yes you can buy what they raced!

Back in the day, many the cars were driven to the track, the spares and parts were unloaded, the headlights taped up and they went racing. After the race was over, they loaded parts and spare, took the tape off and drove home so they had a way to work the next day. Since they raced hard, more than a few walked to work.
And the Grand National.It used to be the guy with the fastest car won! Then if the same brand kept winning they'd find a way to ban that model! Remember the Superbird? I was done watching it by the end of the 70's.
