My 3.0 litre mercruiser has started dieseling after I turn it off.
Never did this before---and I am buying gas at the same Shell station at the lake----do u think it could be the stabilizer in the tank left over from winterization?

Re: dieseling

Have you tuned it up and adjusted all ignition and rpm's to manufacturers specs? Could be more specific, but the 3.0L engine has been used for a million years and gone thru many changes, what year is yours?

Everything Don said + check your idle rpms.... to high will cause a dieseling situation.

Re: dieseling

Did your marina change the octane level of it's fuel?
My 3.0 used to diesel on 87 octane only.
