does this lil jw sound right?

started this little guy up for the first time in who knows how long, just doesnt sound quite right to me? was hoping to use this for a fishing trip this long weekend, but dont want to row back!!

The little JWs are tough little buggers! Thought I heard a bit of a miss at the beginning of the video, but don't hear anything catastrophic there. Is that the lowest idle? What is the compression?

check the water pump impleller... maybe it is just me but aren'T they suppose to spit some water of the back . it is idling well


I don't know if that model has spit holes in the back.....make sure it does not heat up due to a bad impeller before openning if full throttle

After 30 years I'd find a new impeller before running very long.

It was pumping. Look down the leg near the water line, and you will see the relief holes.

Thats about it for idle, the compression was 80/79. Starts very easy, just thought i could hear a bit of a rattle.

The impeller is fresh and it is pumping quite well. The spit holes are on the front of the leg
