okay so I replaced a 1995 ford 302 fi with a flat tappet cam and 2mae crank with a 302 long block I had built with a roller cam and the same size 2mae crank. Engine sounded good but started to vibrate about 30 seconds into intial start up then got worse to the point even me being a novice new something was wrong. As I went to turn the key off it settled down but was still vi brating and then I noticed the vibration dampner and pulleys had a wobble to it...I un-installed and re-installed it thinking it was my own shotty work. still looks bad up and down and in and out. So my thinking is dampner is bad and I find out part is obsolete no luck on ebay either. I then go to a machine and engine balance shop and he looks at it says its fine nothing wrong with it but looked up a replacement for me anyways as he does he mentions its a.28 oz balance. What? This crank is supposed to have 50 oz bal. Okay so no biggie ill get a 50 oz. and put it on there. Grrrrrrr wouldn't you know that the 50 oz. is a 4 bolt pulley instead of a 3 bolt. Now I can find no combination of 4 bolt pulley and spacers to get me where I need to be to line up with wtr pump pulley. So my question is am I missing something? Has anyone ever heard of this before? I pulled the engine back out to check the balance on the flywheel it has a 50 oz. Bal. Ummm wierd. Have I been FRANKENSTEINED?
