Where should the Anti-Vent./Cav. plate be set in relation to the bottom of a Modified Vee hull??? I'm looking for the best all-around performance/handling.
Boat in question is a 1971 18ft with a 1978 Johnson 115. The way it was set up when the engine was new, is the plate even (maybe a little bit below) the bottom of the transome. It is at its lowest setting now. Prop is a Stiletto 21317 13.25x17 SS. I use the boat in coastal waters, and don't want to loose any rough water "bite".
Also>>how much should I expect to pay to have the engine hight changed??? I have no way to lift it.
THANKS
