The answer is the ones that cost the least over time, NOT the ones that cost the least to buy.... (they are actually the 'most expensive'.)

I'm 100% with you.

I know the part/s are exactly the same, then yes, I buy 'non-genuine'... But I'm also selective enough to know when you shouldn't buy anything but genuine.

This is great, your type of experience and knowledge is why I ask. Not to long ago I asked about ujoints. That thread got shut down, although I don't really understand why, I learned a ton from it, and thought the ongoing debate and conversation was excellent.

Things like impellers are a very good example of genuine vs non-genuine.

Man this is such an important point, that most people gloss over. Knowing what parts are like this and which ones are not is really difficult. Especially for a newbie like me.

I guess the thing to know is what you can buy 'alternative' and what you should only ever buy genuine....

This is certainly the trick. I hope you didn't take offence at my post, even if I did call you out a bit. I do enjoy a good debate. :)

Sorry to the op for hijacking the post a bit.

None at all. With this format (written word only) it's often difficult to convey the full meaning of what you're trying to say, and clarification is sometimes required. ;)

You and me both. :D
