Re: ETEC 90 - Starts but won't run
Just one more thing, ask your shop for the, claim #, should start with a, J. PM me with it..
Thanks for the offer but, whilst they are pretty useless, I don't want to name & shame them. It is unlikely I will ever go back.
IMHO Evinrude's warranty system is full of holes. I never signed a job card, I didn't receive any paperwork proving what was done. The Dealer seems able to decide what needs doing and does it, so it could be a licence to print money; they did need authorisation for the injectors though. How can Evinrude audit the dealer's warranty if there is no paperwork?
And Evinrude Australia's "customer service" was pretty poor too. When I notified them of the long delays, lack of resource at one of their dealers etc. they said "work schedule is a dealer issue". No offer to contact the dealer or provide local assistance. Or any offer of compensation or a loan vehicle. The 64 hours old engine cost AU$12500 (US$12000) last year. Compared with the car industry, their customer service is prehistoric.
If it was my name over the door, I would take the franchise off people like this. But clearly Evinrude and I have different standards....
