<br />I'm purchasing a 2003 225hp Evinrude.Are you sure about the 7year warranty? They have the 3year full warranty. They are also giving you $7.00 per hp rebate. I'm getting back $1575.00.I'll have to check out the 7 year and is this a limited warranty after the 3year full warranty?? And is there an extra cost? The rebate is good from Dec.15 through April. My Ma & Pa dealer are holding mine till the end of March so that I don't loose any warranty sitting in my back yard.<br />Have a Great Day!!! We all know they've come a long way, but still have more than their share of problems. I can't see passing up a proven 200 hp 4-stroke or EFI 2-stroke for a HPDI.<br /><br />A 7-year warranty is all fine and dandy, and shows support for their product. But 7 years won't do you much good when you're 50 miles offshore in 12-foot seas and have a breakdown. Warranty repair will be the least of your worries. <br /><br />If I was a gambling man I'd bet that the HPDI will have a problem before the others. IMO <br />Forktail, have you heard of any problems with a 2002 or 2003 Evinrude?

Now it did not say if you had to pay anything for that extra warranty. You will have to read between the lines. <br />Four dollars on Johnson outboards.<br />Forktail; I'm a gambling man.Also with my trade in on a 225hp my cost after rebate will be $4500.00 w/3year full warranty.<br />Also a four stroke may be quite at idle and trolling but they do make noise at crusing. Are you saying that four strokes are like the Maytag man??? If four strokes didn't break down, four stroke dealers would be out of business <br />For $99.00 SEA TOW will tow you from 50 miles straight out from your habor or 25miles up or down the coast.

Sea tow around here is like triple AAA. $99.00 ayear is cheaper then $130.00 per hour from the time they leave the dock until they get back.<br />Have a great day!!! .<br /><br />That remark didn't come out the way I intended. I was just making a point to flyrod that dealers don't stay in business by repairing broken outboards. They stay in business by selling them. Case and point...all the Ficht repairs in the world didn't keep OMC and their dealers alive.
