Hey EZLoader, check out:

http://www.google.com/search?as_q=tie+rod&num=10&hl=en&rls=WZPA%2CWZPA%3A2005-24%2CWZPA%3Aen&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=an y&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.escape-central.com&as_rights=&safe=off

Looks like there are a lot of reasons for the steering on an Escape to squeak, and no particular fix, but tie rods seem to be popular.

The sounds in mine started only when it was really hot out, but now that it's 20something out, it does it ALL the time. It sounds like rubber or rubber rubbing or like worn out wiper blades.

If I were you, I'd report a problem even if you don't have it so that if you have a problem after the warranty, it'll be documented and you'll have a better chance of them fixing it.
