I dropped a new, or better said newly rebuilt 1993 v8 305 Mercruiser, into a 2006 Baja Islander 202 boat. Just got it running last night. The old engine did not have a gear lube monitor, but a newer outdrive and the gimbal housing have a setup for the gear lube monitor, which I installed. Now I have the control wires from the monitor that need to be connected but I'm not sure where should I hook them up to. I know it should be a simple task but instead of digging through a ton of wires in my other boats harness to find where does it go, I think it would be faster just to ask. Thx.
by the way this baja boat turns out to be a great project, I reupholstered everything except the captain's seats and am working now on the final parts of the engine compartment, and then will finish with a new layer of fiberglass. the boat I got at the beginning was a hull with all controls and gimbal, no engine or outdrive and most of the upholstery dead.

Most MC audio/visual alarms and switches are joined or connected with brown (tan) with blue stripe wires. Temperature and oil pressure switches and some alternators have these color coded wires connected at a "T" before going into the MC quick connect male harness plug. Mine were taped over and difficult to find. The oil monitor should have a brown(tan) with blue stripped wire as well. Some wires have quick connectors that allow for disconnecting. You can Google MC wiring harness/color codes. You will need the schematic. TRUST ME! I have my switches connected to visual and LOUD audio alarms. With all the sea, human and motor noises, watching gauges and everything else, you can easily be distracted. Good luck!

My problem is that engine wire harness is from the older 1993 engine that did not have a monitor. So I need to add new wires to connect it to an alarm system.

Found the answer on the wiring diagram. One wire blue tan goes to the oil pressure switch, the other is ground wire
