Hi folks, thanks for looking at my post. I have a 1986 150 mariner that I want to premix the fuel and oil, instead of taking chances with injection. I have spoken to my freindly wrench and he said "that while failures in this system are somewhat rare the outcome is usually catastopic". He suggested that I take the pump lose, remove the shaft, and then bolt the pump back on, and plug the oil line and I have heard here to pull a purple wire to disable the alarm whilst leaving the over temp intact. Questions are,if I follow this can I put the injection back in action by just putting the shaft back, hooking the lines and wires back? I would like to leave as many parts of the system untouched in case the next guy wants to use the injection. This way it looks like the only part i have to keep up with is the shaft. I have read about the plate here, but I would just as soon leave the pump bolted up if it poses no threat.
