Sorry to hear the sad news, especially this time of year.

Yes hospice is truly wonderful. Experienced their wonderful work with the passing of both my parents. They will be a huge help to all involved.

Will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Sadly this is the final update. Never got a chance to bring him home with hospice. He passed this morning peacefully in his sleep at approximately 0530.

Grandpa hood - aug 1919 to dec 2011. Avid boater and fisher. May he forever ride calm seas and the fish be plenty.

Goodbye grandpa you'll be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

Kohrah, there is never a "good time" to lose a loved one, but Christmas time is one of the hardest. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May the God's presence, strength, and peace be with you and yours.

Buddy from work and I have hung out tonight .. he's another boater/fisherman. We killed almost an entire bottle of jack between us. I needed the time to drunk and tell stories about growing up with grandpa. I still remember first time he trusted me to load the boat onto the trailer by myself. As well as the first time he launched it than looked at me and told me to take the helm.

There were many other memories such as him being the grill king. Asking my dad at thanksgiving table to pass him and see it go flying through through the air like a football.

I've come to terms with hos passing and there wont be any services or calling hours. I've said my goodbyes and that's that.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. He is in a group better place bow and not suffering

Kohrah, I know a "little" about what your about to go through. We buried my "fishing/boating/buddy" Grandpa on New Years Eve 1971.

Three years ago this month my 81 year old Mom had a stroke. On Christmas Day we moved her from the hospital to a nursing home. Three days later it was back to the hospital. My brother and I made the difficult desicion to move her into hospice. The next day we decided to move her home to spend her final day's. She didn't make it either.

My heart goes out to you and your family.
