hard starting after shut down

hello finally got on the new forum, well i deside to start a new topic on my hard starting after shut dowm..
i chande the metal gas inlet line to rubber, samething
starter is turning strong ,

iam getting gas if i pump the carb.

i time it at 8degree 4degree same thing.

i notice the magule that mounted on the risers did not have the three nylon spacers behind them, i think when the engine was shut down and the risers get hot it might heated it up, so i remove it , same darn thing.

carb is not realy dripind when shut down, but iit is running rich and smell.

temp guage red 145 to 150 most.

i put double gasket under the carb. same thing.

last tonight i notice when it was hard to start back when i hold the coil it was so hot i could not hold it for long , i know no coil sopose to be so hot , ..could that be my problem.??

what could cause a coil to get so hot beside engine compartment heat.??

only thing left for me to try is when the simptom comes again i will change the coil with my back up or as soon as i shut down i will change the coil. last the sensor in the distributor cap.

last night when i was turning the distributor i was getting shock by the wires any info why. sorry for the long story this thing is giving me gray hair.

fuel lines under pressure should really be steel lines,CGRegs.

after reading my post that all you have to say , man i need info to fix my engine .

go in any marine store that sells engines and look what they have for fuel line that the same hose i used , usg approve. if i go down mercruise is going with me too .

What year and engine type.

When was the last time it was tuned up, Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points & condensor, fuel filters. check and reset timing?

What do you have to do to get it started?

1989 merc 5.7 260 electronic egn no points..

thanks much. iam having this problem from last season.

this year i did not change the wires or the roto. all of those change last season.

but i put new sparkplugs this season. also put new coil last season , my ??? is why the coil so hot.
