Re: Help me choose Boat Cover.

Bought the Westland Sharkskin plus for my MX175 from Iboats. Fit perfect. Couldn't be happier.

Re: Help me choose Boat Cover.

I'm about to Pull the $400 dollar trigger on this today. My current boat cover Straps are broken and the cover doesn't stay on the boat very well.

Am I making the Right Decision. I know there are cheaper boat covers but this one needs to last for years. I don't want to make buy cheap, buy twice or three times mistake.

Re: Help me choose Boat Cover.

I suggest buying a generic cover for the size range of your boat. I think they all get rips and frays after about three years of use. Don't spend a lot of money on something that takes the brunt of the weather and needs replacing every three or four years. Whatever cover you buy today will not be your last cover purchase.

Re: Help me choose Boat Cover.

Thanks for the Comments. In my location the most weather we have is lots of sunshine. The cover I'm looking at has a 5 year warrenty. I really need something that will prevent the Dirt, Dust and Occasional rain storm out. Also protect the Upholstery from the Sun.

Hey AZ, Did you purchase the Hot Shot?
I'm considering that one myself but looking for input.

So I went ahead and purchased a Hot Shot cover that was listed on a liquidation sale in either cranberry or teal.
saved about 50 bucks from ther regular price.
I'll let you know how I like it.

Kind of an older post but I said I'd get back to you when I got my Hot Shot cover and I did so I am.
Time will tell of course but overall for the price it seems ok.
It's not a custom so it's a little long for my boat but I guess that's better then being too short.
I was a little surprised that the rear corners and bow end did not have any apparent re-enforcing and I hope they hold up ok.
The cover that came with the boat, (used) did have that feature but it failed in other areas.
Also I guess I'm spoiled but the straps on my old cover had quick releases which made installing and removing the cover much easier.
These straps you have to run through the plastic loops on the cover every time. They are not designed to stay on the cover when removed.
Anyway the cover does have a 5 year guarantee and the price was pretty good because I was willing to take a color that was on sale.
Time will tell.

Re: Help me choose Boat Cover.

I have a lowe 170 the boat is 16 feet 10 9nches with a about a 72 in beam...I am looking at the Endura cover that is supposed to fit Lowe boats from 16 feet 7 inches to 17 feet 6 inches. My question is..will this work for my boat. I have already bought the walmart cheapy and the home depot tarp cheapy and neither of them lasted a year..they were both in shreds after a season each...so I am looking for a good boat cover and the Endura reads good...it has 5 year warranty...I can get a custom cover from Lowe...but I really do not want to pay six hundred dollars for a custom cover...Does anyone on here know about the Endura cover...I feel that it will fit my boat but I am not sure and I emailed customer service and they referred me here to the forums.. I hope someone can help me.
Thanks and happy boating...
