Re: HELP no spark tried eveything I know

if you have a tachometer disconnect it then try it....

If you dont.... leave everything on the + side of the coil and disconnect everything on the - (negative) side of the coil. rig up a test wire with aligator clips on both ends. Pull the high tension lead from the off of the cap and hold it 7/16ths of an inch from ground with some insulating pliers. Using your test lead you just made up, clamp 1 end to the coil's negative, then quickly tap the other end against ground (but do not hold it there, just tap it) and see if you get spark. (this has to be done with the key on) if you get spark the coil is good. and your problem is before it.

O.K. when I disconnect all - leads off coil and try to arc coil wire the aligator clip assembly arcs on the ground (at least its a spark first one in days) no spark off high tension lead though. Does my coil need an internal or external resistor?

don u r a good man those are the diagnostics I tried still no spark. All new sensors.

How could I be so stupid, After the above statement, I assumed it passed the tests, but you didn't have spark.

Now, just to confuse things, the ignition module is on the exhaust riser, the ignition sensor is in the distributor. Are you using the correct terminology for each one? Did you also replace the small wiring harness that goes between the module and the distributor? Those go bad too you know.

Sorry for the confusion I thought I was clear. But now yes I am using the terms correctly and the wiring harness grey, purple; - + on coil, white/red, white/green; to coresponding on dist also black ground, if you mean that one it came new with the module. Also i've checked the ground attachment points(where I've hooked them up) on module and sensor to see if they are actually grounded and both came back good But now we are getting somewhere. Again sorry for the confusion

Do you have the oem service manual with the wiring diagram for that engine?
and have you tried disconnecting the white/green wire from the terminal block going to the shift interrupt switch?

no I don't have the manual but I should get one and I was told to take the 2 wires from the shift interupt switch and conect them together to by pass the switch altogether just to see if it worked, no difference. sorry the 2 wires that go into the switch

Not sure who told you that, but don't ask them anything else.
seperate the wires and hook them back where they belong. Then see if it will start. If it doesn't disconnect the white/green wire from that terminal block.
