Hi there, welcome to iboats!:)

I'm not really finding your exact carb numbers, do any of these look more familiar http://www.carbkitsource.com/carbs/numbers/Holley/index.html

Using the fowling link is there any other letters in your 5.7 GS engine model such as LK, http://www.volvopenta.com/volvopenta/na/en-us/parts_service/faq/pages/faq_model_name.aspx

This should be your carburetor parts list from Volvo,
http://www.volvopentastore.com/Carb...on_id.748295124--store_id.366--view_id.780890 More letters from your engine model would help confirm it though.

Hello Fun Times, and thank you for the welcoming, after I cleaned my Carb. I found more numbers on it: 7445 and 6R5263B, I researched them on line now I started to get some things but nothing that I can rely on to buy a kit or upgrade to a higher CFM, do you or anyone else know anything about these numbers, again, i'm looking to buy the rebuild kit, the CFM and whether I can upgrade to a higher CFM or not to gain few more knots.

:welcome: to iboats

Don't even try to increase the CFM of the carb, you will only burn more fuel and reduce your HP. The standard carb for a 5.7 is the 600CFM carb. A 5.7 running at 4800 rpm can only pull 413CFM, and if you can turn 5200 rpm this will only increase to 444 CFM. If you bore it .030 it still will be no more then 450 or so.

Now if your going to build a high output motor from scratch, well lets talk some more :)

Hello AllDodge and thank you for welcoming me and for the advice I think it is safe to stick to what you said rather then finding out the hard way, But Sir, do you or anyonr knows anything about the numbers that I have listed in the previous posts namely the 7445, 80310-2, 986471, 0347 and 6R5236B it is a Holley 4 barrel on 5.7 GS Volvo penta, it doesn't seems like I can find anything online specific or official for those numbers I don't know if I should take ebay's seller's word for what they have listed or not. Thank you.

I'm also coming up empty, those numbers don't show up in the Holley listing.

The numbers come close but not exact

Could you post the link to the kit so we could try checking it out as well? Also are you able to get any other model numbers for you engine?

Since you were able to find and match one of the carb numbers (80310-2) in the links above, they should work for your carb. From searching around, it appears your Holley carb model is considered a 4175. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Holley+Carburetor+kit+for+spread+bore+model+4175

Here's some kit's from Volvo which is no longer available. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...TRC0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=3856921&ghostText=&_sacat=0

One thing you'll want to ensure stays the same is the power valve size which yours should be a 2.5. http://boatinfo.no/lib/volvo/manuals/lk_fuel.html#/90

Let us know how it all turns out, good luck.:)

Okay thanks Fun times, yes I agree your info is correct, I have sent a question to Holley themselves and I gave them all the info I've above and their reply was as follows:
" Hello Nick,

Thanks for contacting Holley Performance Products. Your carburetor is a 650 CFM model 4175. The rebuild kit for your carburetor is a 703-34.

Thanks
Mark"

Mystery is solved I hope all viewers would benefit from this and great thanks to "FunTimes" and " AllDodge" GOD bless.

Wow, these forums rock !! I was having the same problem....mine had 80310-2, 986471, and 3386. My mechanic is old school and kept telling me to get a 650 Holley carb, single pump, electric choke and that's all he could tell me, but as I started looking for one, I found out how hard they are to match up. Thanks for your post, this helps !!
