I found soft spots in the floor of my 15' Larson tri-hull and cut about ½ the floor out months ago, then got side tracked by events and never got back to replacing the floor.
Now I have to move the boat 90 miles North on one of the roughest stretches of Hwy. 101 in the State of Oregon. The transom is solid but the only thing connecting the transom to the hull is the hull and the now removed floor. (No stringers) I plan to go slow and know all of the worst spots on the road, and will have a transom saver installed.
My question is: Do I risk having that 250 lb. Merc 800 still attached to the transom laying on the side of the road, or do you think it will make it? I really dont want to pull the engine as Id have no way to then transport it.
Any ideas?
