Jay....I don't recall me or anyone saying that they are perfect. If it was said, point out who said it and I'm sure we can get an immediate retraction. <br /><br />The point being....don't it just make good sense that we take what short comings that we have and use those shortcomings to point the younger generation in a true course?? Just because it happens on ebay and lord only knows where else, DOES NOT, in any sense, make it right.<br /><br />If Ryan has the consent of his parents to post on ebay and sell or buy, then, IMHO, he is not doing anything wrong. What would be the difference between Ryan using his own name or his parents, which he really is doing by using their credit card, to post for sale or buy?<br /><br />I don't think anyone on the board is classifing anyone as "subhuman". Let's just don't pass on bad habits to the younger generation.

My age is not an issue, the whole account is in my parents name, and its not possaball to hide anything because everytime you sell something it shows in on the credit card bill.<br /><br />You shouldn't compair buying/selling underagged to coning people out of money, the two are very different.<br /><br />Lets stop talking about Jay's actions, its getting old.

I'm not saying anyone here said they are perfect because nobody is. But some here act like they are by criticizing me. <br />I wish one of you had the nads to admit something that you did wrong in the past but so far know one has. I'm sure alot of you live pretty clean lives now and rarely do anything wrong but what about the past.<br /><br />I've done more good than probably 99% of you people. In the past for several years I volunteered my time for no benefit of myself. I have done more for people than I care to think about for people that didn't appreciate it. I've lived and learned.<br />I know who I am and don't pretend to be something else.

You have admitted you felt guilty about shill bidding and you have admitted it hurts the community and therefore hurts innocent people (like me). Now, all you have to do is go the extra, critical step of admitting it is wrong and do not condone it. <br /><br />We all have done and do bad things. Ryan, a piece of advice. Spelling and grammar are important tools and may be judged by those who buy. Take the time to double check your listings so that you are represented as an intelligent and worthy fellow. It does make a difference!! Like M.Y. said, take the extra time and effort. It will pay off now and in the future. Good luck, work hard, go make a fortune!

Ryan, I started out selling "stuff" that I didn't need or want anymore. I then bought a few "lots" of items on ebay, which turned out ok because they were brand name products that sell well on ebay. I have since moved on to other products.<br /><br />A found a few nice items at some craft shows, and was able to arrange some wholesale purchases of the items. The only restriction they had was that I don't compete with them at the craft shows. <br /><br />I have set up accounts with 2 wholesalers. NOT the discount products like candles and fake jewelry, but real distributors of quality products. I don't buy many of an item, so I don't get the best wholesale price, but I am making progress. It is hard to compete with the big discount stores, so I look for products that are carried in specialty stores, like hobby shops, pet supplies, and sporting goods.<br /><br />I also go to a few local auctions looking for stuff when I can, but people there will often bid more than you would pay for the item at a store. I guess some people aren't too smart. <br /><br />Good Luck.

I've always wondered how some people can live with themselves when they knowingly rip people off... No conscience I guess. No guilt.<br /><br />That's OK. You'll have to meet your maker sometime.<br /><br />And don't think for a moment that there aren't people that work for EBay that are far smarter than you'll ever be. They WILL catch you. That's what I did. I want to market my custom tooling as soon as I get a machine capable. <br />I've received a couple of good quotes, but there is no way I could meet the demand without a good CNC machine.<br />Wholesaling could make some good money too, but it's a lot more work than you think.<br /><br />H.
