Re: How far are you on your 'before launch projects'?

I'm not sure how big my list is this year because I bought my boat a month ago.
Things I know for sure I have to do...
Take stereo/speakers/subwoofer/gps out of old boat and install in new one.
Install downriggers after figuring out how I'm going to mount them.
Pull drive and check to see if bellows/ujoints/gimbal need to be replaced (really hoping they don't).
Replace impeller just to be safe
oil/filter/lube change
waxing/buffing/cleaning

I'm sure there are many more things but can't think of them now.

But #1 foot of snow and 14 inches of ice need to melt!!!

Re: How far are you on your 'before launch projects'?

Actually, I already splashed the boat for a quick verification trip about three weeks ago, but the first "official" trip for the year (fishing) will be this Friday, weather permitting.

As to my task list:

Decarb motor - 90 % done. Just needs the WOT run to blow the last of the gunk out of the exhaust, then change plugs and good to go.
Emergency Kill switch - Installed.
Water pump Impeller - Replaced
Replace/rebuild bow seating - Not started but not vital to getting the boat in the water.

The big things I have left to do are on the trailer:
Need to replace the jack wheel. I forgot to raise it on the last trip of the year last hear and ground it down to a nice half-moon shape. I figure I'll just replace the whole jack with one that folds out of the way to keep that from happening again.
Trailer lights - I bought new lights on clearance last year, but have not installed on the trailer. Again, not vital but a "Nice to have"

Re: How far are you on your 'before launch projects'?

Okay,
My list is a bit long but I have knocked out a lot of it. I am redoing a 1989 ski sport inboard with a 351 indmar. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=464828&p=3142952#post3142952
I still have to:
redo the carpet,
upholstery,
get new brackets for the speakers on the tower,
stain and water proof the teak wood,
redo the rubber trim around the boat,
drain the fuel tank,
launch the boat so that I can redo the trailer, sand and paint.

So far all of the registrations, complete paint of the exterior has been done.

Oh I forgot a rather important factor which is to recarpet the trailer, and dewinterize.

Man some of you are lucky to be breaking the boat out already. Mine is still in storage mode in my backyard. But, all fluids were changed when it was winterized.
Should be dusting her off in the next few weeks.

Still to do:
Install Smart Tabs.
Upgrade stereo system.
Put battery back in. Its on a trickle charger and ready to go.
Wash and wax.
Grease trailer.

The wet weather has me far behind my July 4th scheduled launch. Motor is getting close and the trailer is done. Stringers are next.
