Re: How far are you on your 'before launch projects'?

This June , I will own my current boat for 2 yrs. I have yet to splash her. The list of things needing to be done is beyond my comprehension, and so is the amount of work that has been accomplished....lolol...yet , I labor and love on her as if this one last task will be the final before launch. Every Sunday it's not raining or freezing.
I am forced to work on her outdoors. I have to set up shop each time I work on her. I also have only one day a week to work on her as I work 6 days a week at my job...... The weather has a say in my progress, I live in the NE ,so I have spring through fall to work on her. I envy all of you who are able to get on the water. I know the day will finally come for me and thats what keeps me going.

Since last fall, on the DONE list:

- Move engine & house batteries from transom to bow
- Replace/re-wire the helm (old one was a MESS!)
- New rear turtle deck (the old one leaked)
- Move the fuel filters to a more serviceable location
- New doghouse (that doesn't weigh 300 pounds!)
- Replace the kitchenette with accessible storage space
- Check out the fridge, new gasket, and move to bow
- Add a fresh water (drinking/washing) system
- Extend the hardtop to past the transom
- Slip covers for the seats
- Rebuild the carb
- Switch to electronic ignition
- New plugs
- Add 100W solar for the house battery
- Make new camper top

Remaining work:
- Handrails for cabin roof
- Replace exhaust & drive bellows
- run engine to set carb, timing, & tappets
- Gluvit all seams

I was going to repaint the hull but that might not happen this spring - not enough time.

I have been BUSY!

Here is my list:

new snap on cover, on hold because of $$$ (see below, lol)
new gimbal ring, done and installed (PITA)
new shift cable, have the parts
new bellows, all of them, have the parts
repair trim hydraulic leak, waiting on parts
new trim switch/sender, installed

unexpected repairs:
new exhaust manifolds, getting ready for paint
new exhaust elbows, getting ready for paint

So I will have to wait another year for my snap on cover!
