I have a 1990 gastron sierra 175, I don't know how to fill the trim pump.

Pretty sure you shouldn't have messed with those.
First let me say, we never try to repair these pumps --- always just replace them when testing shows they are bad. So the only time I've had one apart is at OMC school. I believe Volvo got this pump from the same company as OMC did (they look the same). This was a long time ago for me, but if I remember right. Those two valves are the pressure relief valves that the teacher in school said to never disassemble because its impossible to get them set back at the right pressure. This will cause the drive to kick up in reverse or not to stay trimmed up in forward if the pressure is set too low. If pressure is set too high, you run the risk of blowing a line or cylinder.
My guess is that you could hook up a pressure gauge and get them set to the right pressures. I'm not sure what those pressures are but they might be in the service manual.

From my other post!!!
"The actual pump there is usually nothing you or I can do but screw it up.
The relief/release can be repaired."

If you took it apart and moved anything you might be buying a new pump??
They are set from the factory with pressure equipment and need to be left alone.

The only thing you can fix is the relief seals in the bottom.

They are repairable, anything is repairable depending on your level of expertise. The question is whether or not it is worth the amount of time that it will require. Only the OP can answer that.

I have them close but i think I should get a new valve body, I am looking for a part number on the pump and valve body and there is absolutely nothing. I see a lot of valve bodies that I know would mount up. It looks like it matches up pretty well with the late 80's Force valve bodies. I appreciate the feedback guys, I always get good answers on here. Can you buy replacement preset valves? Can you just count the turns?

Not sure what that number is for. Might be an aftermarket P/N. I have found that the best way to order a part is to get the OEM (in this case Volvo) part number first and than cross that to a aftermarket P/N. This method increases the chances of getting the right part.

Really need a serial number or full model number to help. If your package was properly registered with Volvo, that can sometimes be from the drive, transom plate (TSK) or engine.
Replacement preset valves were available for some pumps.
Just counting the turns doesn't work.

I found some valve bodies that will work but I need a couple fittings to plug the 2 unused hydraulic lines because mine only has 2 lines.

The "plugs" are just 1/4in pipe plugs.
Get Brass.
Mastertechmarine has valve bodies.
Where did you "find" the bodies?
Yup they can be repaired, IF??

Muc, the serial looks to be 1101558359, there are a couple numbers on the plate but I believe that is the number you are referring to. Can I cross reference that number somewhere? Thanks for all the info guys, it has helped a lot.

Put pump back togethe,r took boat out, it ran great, trim responded better than expected. I got it up to 39 mph, whereas before it would only do 36. The briggs carb kit seems to have fixed the issue but I dont think the pressure relief valves will be tested much until I pull a tube. I gunned it in reverse several times to see if the LU would climb out of the water but it did not. I was worried about blowing out a seal somewhere but its holding for now. Has anyone else ever accidentally messed with pressure relief valves and then set them by counting turns and had success?

I ran your number thru Volvo. Good number, comes up as a TS2-A-AQ-7 P/N 868130 shield with power trim
But it was never registered by the selling dealer so that's as far as I can get.
Back then most parts were looked up based on the engine Model Number. So if you can come up with a full model number or serial number for the engine I can try to look further.
But to be honest with you, its very possible that for a package this old these parts may no longer be available thru Volvo Penta.

Thanks, I found the same info, it did lead me to the correct pump and outdrive. It's enough info. It's running great right now. I can't beleive the Briggs carb kit works this well.
