IBOATS GET TOGETHER

Don't know if this has ever been tried, but might be interesting to see if we could get it to work.<br /><br />A meeting of some of the iboats members somewhere centrally located in the US.<br /><br />Say sometime in October.<br /><br />After deciding where to have it, maybe a member in that city, or close by, could line up lodging and a meeting room of some sorts to have a dinner and stuff.<br /><br />Maybe some prizes for farthest traveled etc.<br /><br />Any and all ideas welcomed. <br /><br />OH yea, you all don't have to worry, I won't be packing. <br /><br />P.S. Maybe iboats could throw in some prizes for different activities.<br /><br />Sure would hope Admin5, mod1, or JB could attend.

Where's admin5 at?<br />I kinda like the pics of JB's place.<br />An'I think I can find Texas.<br /><br />Is Indiana central?<br />We got us the India(na) Ocean and in the middle of the state, are only 3 major tributaries off of the Mississippi (White to Wabash to Ohio)

Hey guys & Gals,<br /><br />How do we ant to do this?<br />Bring boats and do it on a lake/river?<br />Meet at some Hotel/club/venue?<br /><br />'bout 1 1/2 hors SSWofme is beautiful Patoka Lake.<br /><br />On the Ohio is the quaint little old town of Madison (famous for town-owned hydro plane)<br /><br />Evensville Indiana is on the Ohio at the southern most tip of Hoosierville.<br /><br />wadda-u-think?

We could get one of our members that live around the lake of the ozarks to find us lodging and place to hold a dinner, and have the tournament there at Lake of the Ozarks.<br /><br />Bring your boat and be just like any other tourney.<br />Charge a small entry fee to help offset moneys for meeting place and award trophys for 1st. 2nd. 3rd. place and farthest traveled.<br /><br />Or not bring your boat and just be there to help out and meet friends.

I LIKE IT!<br /><br />Any of you guys in the Lake of the Ozarks Area, interested in gettin involved?<br /><br />The opener in this thread suggested an October time frame. This would allow plenty of time to pull things together.<br /><br />L-of-O ought to be "Drop Dead Beautiful" in October.<br /><br />We might be asking a bit much to ask iboats for anything more then to be the subject of the meet BUT "BOY_HOWDIE!", it'ed sure be dandy to have a moderator or two show up.<br /><br />???

I will pick a date.<br />October 11-12 and have it at the Lake of the Ozarks.<br /><br />That lake is pretty much centrally located and there are plenty of places to stay around there.<br /><br />If we are going to do this, then we need to get serious and plan some stuff.<br /><br />Glad to see that iboats is on the band wagon with us on this. <br /><br />Anyone that wants to attend, just drop me an e-mail and let me know how many will be in party and I will do what I can to find lodging.<br /><br /> grizzlybear310@peoplepc.com <br /><br />If we are going to do this, then we need to get things set up so there will be no problem with finding places to stay at.

sure sounds like fun SBN <br />gettin' folks from all round the country to<br />decide on the best spot is kinda tough...<br />might be a way to do a tournament though?<br />every year there's a fishin tournement for the<br />Erie Canal. covers Niagra and Orleans county,<br />which is a long ways. there are local wiegh in<br />stations throughout the stretch. there is 7 diff.<br />species you can enter. <br /><br />we would need too get ourselves a single judge in<br />each geographical area of Iboats country. I will<br />volunteer for the northeast I would be kinda<br />like a sponser and would cover shipping cost 4 any<br />fish deemed a potential winner in it's class.<br />since weight can change to a degree and it might<br />be necc. to freeze a big fish temporarily, the<br />contest would be decided on length alone.<br />wouldn't cost nothing to enter and open to all<br />members...<br />the prize?<br />braggin' rights and a lot of good fishin stories!<br />I get to eat all them big fish right? LOL

Well that don't sound to bad, but don't know how fair it would be for someone to weigh/measure a large mouth from one of the northern states, when you would have to compete against say Florida bass or Texas bass unless you broke it down into regions.<br /><br />Send me some info if you have it as to cost to send fish and the best way to ship them.<br /><br />P.S. The idea of the post to start with was to get some members together to meet. The fishing part was just a add on.

sounds great to me.. i can take off 'bout anytime... october's my favorite month for delaware but where is the L of O ,,anyway.. what big town or city..??
