18R,<br /><br />Date is now April 8. Early, yes, but thought we would have fewer family trips or conflicts that might limit who would go if we went later. Also, decent weather for camping, not hot at night yet.<br /><br />Address is somewhere on the lake . . . 1698 S Smoketree Ave, Lake Havasu, AZ is the closest place to an actual meeting place that we have discussed. There is a state beach there and we could make a rendezvous, but we are still working that out.<br /><br />There are lots of different places to stay or camp. The map I posted showed a couple of key coves for camping by boat and two hotels that are on the water. There are a bunch of hotels at a variety of prices scattered around the city and camping by vehicle out on the main peninsula/island thing that was formed by the channel under the London Bridge.

Actually, the last info I got from the wife: she would have better change of going on the 1st than on the 8th (of April); but I don't want to keep crying to QC (and DR) to change the target date. Bottom line is; I am flexible the way it stands so far; for now...

I want to go to I have been watching for the date sounds like it is getting close to getting one. I work out of town alot just got back but have been watching the forum ST I did contact Jim the guild in Havasu and will book with him some time this month. I would love to come, but I can't bring my boat. <br />If a date is confirmed, I can take vacation and fly out there, BUT someone has to have room for me and friend in a boat.<br />It would be a great vacation for me, as I have never been to Cali.<br />Once a date if confirmed, I will let you all know if I can make it or not.<br />Sounds like it is going to be LOTS OF FUN!<br />Brother Chris.

Bro Chris - Unless things have changed recently, Lake Havasu isn't in Calif. It's in Az. Tahoe, Shasta, and other lakes in or around volcanos is here.

18R and Bro Chris,<br />The Automobile Club Map shows that the border of California and Arizona runs right in the middle of lake Havasu. So, my California fishing liscense is valid in that lake; I just needed to affix a token Colorado River Stamp (about $3.00 I think). Wonder if Arizona resident has to purchase that stamp too?<br /><br />By the way, it's similar geographic border situation for the bigger lake Mojave just to the North, the border of Nevada and Arizona runs in the middle of that lake too. Yes it's seems unusual, don't know how it came about, maybe someone can explain more....

The 1st sounds good to me, I'll do my best to be there.<br /><br />BTW the historic bed of the Colorado River is the state border between Arizona and California so the "State Line" runs along the historic river channel which runs very near the middle of the lakes including Havasu. Both states have jurisdiction on the lakes as well as the Coast Guard, Park Service and other Federal agencies. The Coast Guard has a history on the Colorado River, but concedes to the Park Service currently.

Before the dams the Colorado river was the original border, the old channel still is . . . Same with Arizona and Nevada on Lake Mead.<br /><br />Looks like we are getting some action for April 1. Sorry about the wife 18R, good news about the girlfriend I am probably just bringing two or three of my boys. May have the BIL join.<br /><br />Bro Chris,<br /><br />Just keep an eye out and I am sure this could work out!! Only issue is flying in to Havasu can be expensive. I am not positive, but I think they run commuters out of Vegas, I know there are some out of Phoenix.

DJ,<br /><br />There are lots of different hotels. Here is a quick search on Expedia. On the water the best choices are definitely the London Bridge Resort and the Nautical Inn, but there are lots within 5 - 10 minutes from logical meeting places.<br /><br /> Havasu Hotels

I'm in for the 1st.<br /><br />I am taking the Friday and Monday off work to make for a longer weekend.<br /><br />Camping and fireside barbeque sounds great.<br /><br />A fishing adventure would be fun, never caught a striper and it would be a blast!<br /><br />Everything is looking good so far!!!
