Great shots John!!! Hard to beat that beach at the Nautical for convenience . . .<br /><br />I sure could have used that night vision going back to the Island after dinner . . .

W.D. if you launch at LHM and go to friendly island the big cove right beside the island usalley has fish in it. If you keep going past the island on the other side there is a mobil home park plams I think on the far side there is a big cove fish it close to were you are out of river traffic and not way back in the cove. Anchovies cut into cut into three or four parts throw heads and tails in the water use 6# maybe 8# line #6 or 4# hooks not to big of a sinker. If you are not getting bites just let it sink to the bottom and reel up real slow hope this gets him a fish.

Yeah John;<br />thanks for taking the time to post the photos. "Night vision?"; wow, how's that work? I guess you made it Okay to the "Sand Bar"/Topock Gorge and back to the Marina without refueling, right?

I use Sony cameras. Both my still and my movie camera have night vision built into them.<br /><br />We made it up to Topoc and had lunch - and back to the hotel on only 1/2 tank of gas (20 gal). <br /><br />On the way up - had to brake suddenly to avoid an accident when an old guy pulled out in front of me on the highway. That's when my boat shifted forward on my EZ-Load trailer. Solved the problem by winding the winch cable around a crossmember and securing the boat in both directions from movement.

MRS,<br />That was a good pic of the C-17 flyby. I wish I was on that one!! That would have meant I got to go on the get-together. Maybe next one. Only 3 more months to go here.<br /><br />I took tonight off of work. I am going on a trip tomorrow, morale type of trip. We will be going sand-duning in a Land Rover, camel rides, sand-boarding down a sand dune, and maybe watch a belly dancer.<br /><br />I will send the pics for someone to post. The only connection I can get on iboats on is a dial-up. Way tooooooo slow.<br /><br />AK Chappy

Hey, that's pretty cool. First AK post since he left. Thanks for stopping by! You should've seen how low that C17 was first hand. There was all of this talk about how it was some secret plane because it had no markings

That means it is probably one of the test birds leftover from the beginning of the program. They use them to test all kinds of stuff. <br />Looks funny.<br />They used to use C-141 A-models. I have seen them with F-16 noses on them, or extra stuff bolted to the wings. I would guess they now use the original C-17's.<br /><br />Actually, this is about post 4 or 5 since I left. I lurk a bit though. It is about 3:30 am here. So there aren't people waiting for the computer. That means I don't have a time limit. <br /><br />All of you had good pics. AK, glad to hear from you I was thinking about you when they Dipped there wings at everybody on the lake. My stepson is in boot camp now Marines I worry about him and all you guys and gals. He will graduate on the 05/31/06 I do a few trips a year to the Air Force base at the Cape so I am on the same page with you guys and when I hear or see something like that fly over that is the sound of Freedom to me and family. When you get back we all have to do a trip I think we all hear Thank you and pray for you because we are what we are because of you. But I think I will still catch bigger fish than you take care see you when you get back.

Sorry I missed the whole thing. Daughter woke up Friday with a stomach flu, that and some bad cramps around noon sent us to the hospital. All is well but she did manage to give it to me Monday night.
