Over the weekend I started my 1990 200HP Johnson after winterizing it at the end of last season. Started up fine, but it idles too high and won't go down. I tried lifting the lever (reving a little) to see if it would settle down, but it stays around 1300 RPM. I let it run long enough to warm up and nothing changes. Any ideas? Could a butterfly be stuck? Ran perfect at the end of last season.
I was reading some other posts and wanted to add more details. This is on muffs, but its still higher than it ever idled before. Carbs were rebuilt at the beginning of last year and linkages were adjusted 4 trips prior. Nothing has changed from last year except adding fuel stablizer to the tank and pulling the plugs and spraying lube. Read about an air leak that I will check for. Just can't imagine it developed an air leak while sitting.
Thank you!
