I was wondering what you were talking about - and then I figured it out. Yea - if someone is going to publicly poke fun of less fortunate people who need EBT cards to get by - And implying that all people who go to Walmart need EBT cards..... and I respond with "Bad Joke" - I am not too upset about that.

There are good people who are struggling right now - wrong time to joke about that kind of thing IMO.

Here is the "closed thread" that somebody else (moderator) must have also thought was over the top.

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=497485

Funny thing, though...the thread had no problem with my post, but closed after you posted: "Dumb joke" (not "Bad Joke" as you claim).

Maybe the moderator was O.K. with the Bayliner/EBT reference, but saw where you wanted to take the joke?

Didn't you just claim that your reference to your wife running from you was just "a joke"? Is it time to rescue you, and end this 'I hate all the other boaters that I had to be around the other day' thread that you started?

Works for me....

Happy boating!

Obviously I am not trying to hide whether I said dumb joke - or bad joke - I posted it on this thread for all to see. The joke was both dumb and bad....I am fine with it.

On the other thread you gave me a link about getting a sense of humor - maybe you should read that - and then reread my initial post....it will probably help you. You seem to have ALOT (for the sensitive types - not yelling that word, just emphasizing it...) of experience looking up those "get help" sites.....My advice to you is: Keep working on it, keep searching - you will get your issues worked out eventually.....you might need a bit more than internet advice sites - maybe a professional session or two....Good luck!

Yea....great thought......The Asians and the jetskiers were so annoyed at me for taking up valuable dock space.....so they started banging into my boat...scratching the crap out of it....Yea....It's my fault...I don't know why I didn't realize that before....Pffft!

For the record - my boat was probably on the dock for about 30 minutes before I loaded it - in the first 10 minutes the first jetskier and the boat hit me....it wasn't because I was wasting time at the dock.

Keep in mind that the average wait time to load/unload a boat on a weekend at Silverwood is well over 15 minutes....So when that crap happened it was NOT because I was at the dock forever.

Unless some of you brilliant commentators have ever boated in SoCal....you probably shouldn't even add your .02 - It is seriously a completely different world. (I grew up in midwest on the Miss. River - it isn't even close to being similar)

Chill man.........just askn!!! Your correct that I dont know what the ramp situation is in So Cal And the only boating I have done in So Cal was on the ship in my avatar out of the 32 st Naval Base San Diego. and a handful of fishing and scuba diving charters, and jet skies out in Coronado bay.. My buddies 34ft on Coronado Island A few sail boats here and there , but thats it! No real experience with ramps tho, So yep , I don't know, but 1/2 hr to load sounds like insanity to me. Im about 90 sec to launch 3-4 min to load... Dats da way I roll... Sorry I offended you with my point of view. Next thread you start, I will just agree with you no matter what I really think, so as not to get ya all worked up;):):D:D:D

Good idea....just agree with me! Hahaha! I guess I read some of these responses and thought ..."I am sharing a crazy story that should make people laugh at the absurdity - and instead people are busting MY balls...WTH??!!"

So - if I overreacted to your post - Sorry about that. I just lumped you in with the others who seem to be acting "Holier than thou"....

Having been to Silverwood many times, it's common for boats to be tied to the dock for a while. People tie them off, get their trailers, and wait in line to get to the ramp. There is a lot of dock space at the ramp compared to ramp space- I think you can fit 14 boats on the docks and maybe 5 trailers at the ramp. That's what I do with mine, especially when it's just me and my kids. They wait in the tied off boat while I get the truck and I've never had a problem.

I am afraid to post my exp due to the hostility. And I do have anger issues. If it happened to me my wife would have hid, my kids would be under their blankets, the dog swimming for shore. As for jet skiers and those Asians well you know. Any way I think we would all would have taken some time at the dock due to the chain of events, even if it usually takes you 90 seconds to launch. Several of you took the story out of context and that will always lead to miscommunication. Most of my boating years were from a trailer. Cant say I was in and gone in less than 5 minutes from the dock but always tried to be courteous. I can say if I am about to put my boat on my trailer and a jet ski is jammed into its bow, we might have a reason to sit at the dock a bit longer. If people can not be understanding at that point then well you know...

Happy boating and tight lines

Ha ha.. sounds like you stumbled on a drug smuggling operation and they gave you $500 to keep quiet.

I am always amazed at the amount of folks on this board that jump down someones throat when they share a story of frustration. How may posts were there when diesel5599's boat got stolen from his driveway that said he was at fault for keeping it in his driveway or maybe he had it stolen for insurance instead of sympathizing with the guy.

I rarely post here because I don't want to deal with the argumentative, naysaying, holier than thou experts.

just my .02 as well.

You handled it much better than I probabaly would have. Chances are fists would have been swung. I applaud your composure.

One time I had to call my wife and ask her to bring me a spare set of truck keys, because I accidentally locked the doors when I got out of the truck after backing the trailer into the water. There it sat for 20 minutes while we all waited for her to get there. People were surprisingly patient. I was extremely embarrassed. No real damage done. I now roll down my window whenever I leave the truck running.

We had the same thing happen on my dad's '90 F150. That model had the electric lock/window switches right at knee height, and when my uncle got out of the truck after backing the trailer in, he inadvertently triggered the locks. Luckily, it was equipped with the double sliding back glass which was popped open with a flat blade screwdriver and I was small enough at the time to slide through and unlock the doors, lol.

Sooo... Jet skiers regularly have $500 in cash on them? What's the season and is there a bag limit?

Quote of the year... and I like jetskis!

Re: If it didn't happen to me - I wouldn't believe it....crazy ramp story

I was at a ramp in Maryland and when it was finally my turn to back up to load my boat on our trailer, this guy came up to me and said that I was in his spot. And he wanted me to more my truck so he could get his boat out of the water.I didn't pay any attention to him and continued to back up, all this time he's hollowering at me to more. So I got the boat on the trailer, hooked up my safety chain and then I found out that he was blocking me from coming out of the water.By the way he had a can of beer in his hand all this time. So I got into my truck And started to move forward. Seeing that I wasn't going to stop moving he got in his truck and got out of my way. I pulled out of the way and he followed me to my truck. He said that he had my numbers and that he'd let every loading dock in Maryland know what I did to him. While this is going on someone got into his truck and moved it out of the way so now he had to start all over. .When I finished hooking up and unloading my boat I pointed to his truck and he blew his stack at every one there. My wife asked me what I was going to do So I walked over to the edge of the dock and big mouth thought that he had me trapped. I asked him if he could swim and he said sure he could swim ,so I threw him into the water ,beer can and all.
