Here is the report -- and link to pics -- on the Antique Boat Meet. I didn't get there but it looks pretty interesting. Be patient, there is some glass.

"Eight vintage boats with vintage motors entered the Fort Loudon locks and had the experience of dropping 72'. We then entered Watts Bar Lake for a short cruise and then back into the locks and a lift back up to Fort Loudon Lake. We traveled up Tellico Lake to Tanasi Restaurant for a nice lunch.

Despite threatening weather forecast there was a very good turnout for the meet at Louisville Point Park. Lots of old outboards on display or for sale. The usual great turnout of Feather Crafts, I think the count was 17, but it may have been higher. Here is a link to some photos courtesy of Larry Forget from Soddy Daisy.

Our 24th Biannual East Tennessee Antique Boat Meet will be May 17 & 18 2013. "

If anyone wants to contact the eveny organizer, PM me and I'll send contact info.

I have to go up to Chattanooga just to ride through some locks and do some river cruising. Only a hour or so away. It's something I've only done once in Pittsburgh on the Allegheny long ago when I was in high school and a passenger.

Maybe next May and look at some tin.

Intellectually I know the locks are fine. But they are just creepy to me...just thinking about that whole lake behind those two doors. I think I'll stick to one lake at a time.

I think the feathercraft with jet drive modification is cool! I think I may be addicted to Tinny Porn.

I agree. I wish I had seen that one in person. They meet every six months, so maybe next time.

I love Feathercrafts. So very cool. The only better is a wooden classic.
