She'll get through the poopies soon enough, you'll survive. Labs need a routine and having another dog or two around to show them helps. They learn quick. Labs bond very quickly as puppies to new "parents" and are eager to please by nature so time spent and praise are your best training tools. I bet a year from now you're posting pics of your best boat dog EVER!

LOL! YOU TRIED TO SAY NO!! Look at that face...

I had a few single buddies that would help me burn my boat gas. They always whined about not finding the ladies. I said "Buy a boat and rescue a dog."

Molly had her first outing on the boat yesterday.
She absolutely loved it.
We went to a deserted Island off Dubai coast and set up camp.
It was really amusing watching her standing on the beach watching the waves that she's never seen before.
Then playing with them and barking at them.
Within 5 minutes she was in the water and swimming. Can't keep her out!
A great day for her and her big sister Rosie.

Little mutt is still peeing everywhere though and boy is she growing fast.
How big do they get........

Re: I'm a tough guy. I can say no! *UPDATE - Almost Lost her!*

We almost lost her last time out on the water.......

So we?re out on the boat with the 2 dogs, Mollys 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] time out and she loves it. Can?t keep her out of the water.
We?ve launched and heading off to Jumeirah Island. Lovely and smooth water, WOT.
My wife has hold of the lead for Molly, my other dog is a proper sailor and knows the rules.
Karen?s not holding the lead properly or looking at what Molly is doing, so I have a go at her?twice.
Next thing I hear is?.?She?s In!...She?s In?!!
I turn round, NO DOG, Karens still holding the lead which disappears over the side of the boat.
I bang her into neutral, (the boat) and go to the side, Molly is yelping and struggling to keep afloat and is being strangled by the lead at the same time.
Wife says stop the F*****g boat, I said ?I have, it hasn?t got a F****g parking brake you Know. I told you to keep hold of her!?:mad:

I jump in and grab the little pup, plop her on the swim deck. Molly now looks like a drowned rat and is shaking.

Good news is we carried on to the island and she was strutting around on the beach with tail up within minutes.
I made a point of taking her back into the water as soon as possible so that she wouldn?t be scared of it.

Divorce comes through next week.:D

She?s an adorable dog, stopped poohing inside the villa but still can?t hold the wee for more than 3 hours. (Molly:facepalm:)
Are Labs always hungry or is it just mine? She will eat anything and everything all day if allowed.

It could be that she's a pup and growing. I have noticed with any stray I have parented that there is a psychological need to eat whatever and whenever food is present. It's a self preservation instinct for a (previously) starving animal.

That is a funny story. Glad it turned out OK. Similar thing happened to our now departed lab cross.

Took wife and the dog out in the boat a few years ago to teach her how to drive the boat. After a short while, wife was feeling confident and was cruising at WOT down the lake with the dog in the bow when we come to a fairly large wake. She neglected to slow down and hit the wake straight on. From my vantage point I saw the dog fly straight up into the air about 4ft and go shooting over the side of the boat as we sailed past him and landed on the other side of the wake. Wife now was panicked and didn't know what to do, as we continued speeding down the lake. I managed to pick myself up off the floor and jumped into the seat beside her and throttled back. Looking back I see the dog about 200ft behind us making his way towards shore. Now, this dog HATED the water and never wanted anything to do with it. My fear was that he didn't know HOW to swim so I raced back to pick him up fearing that he was going to drown. I pulled up along side of him and grabbed him by the neck and hauled him into the boat. Wife never drove the boat again and the dog wanted nothing more to do with boats. It's funny now thinking about it, but it really scared the cr*p out of me at the time.

Marco, yes Labs eat, and eat, and when they are done eating they eat some more, surprisingly this does not translate to more pooh, I have figured out that Labs actually have some sort of system that pushes hair out instead of more pooh, what you are going to find out is that for some reason they cannot pooh enough and so their body pushes their hair out instead to make up the difference.

First season on our new to us boat, its fall and we have Canadian Geese everywhere, our Lab has a lifelong hatred for Geese, so after a long but wonderful day on the water we are in the no wake zone about 200' from the ramp and I am focused on the ramp approach, the pooch is focused on a gang of rival geese 20' off the port side bow and then suddenly she ATTACKS!! my wife and son hit the bow to try to retrieve the pooch but she is in before anyone can get close, unfortunately it dawns on the pooch that she no longer flys like she used to about the time I see her go over and I hit full reverse, my son is commited in reaching the pooch but doesn't properly anticipate the Captains actions and before he knows it he is head first over the side as well, wife on the other hand is much slower and finds herself wadded up at the forward most point of the bow/sunning area with only her ego bruised.

This day we were the comic relief at the ramp, no Geese were injured at this particular show

cute looking pup. labs are the best, imo. more than just a dog. they really want to please.

ain't this the truth. my yellow is 100 times worse than the black. everyday is shedding season.

they are highly motivated by food. use it to your advantage but be careful she doesn't get chunky.
