I've been a recluse hear lately, but I'm still kicking. Looks like I'll make it to my fifty-second b-day here next month. Actually I'm in pretty good health I'm fine. The boy and wife, not so good. The Starcraft is neglected.

Boy; Officially diagnosed with Atypical Autism. Doing poor in school and the school is moving way too slow on this. The Doctor at Autism Center says the school is not doing enough. This is Children's Hospital, one of the finest in the country. They are going to set us up with an advocate for education, counseling for the family and some therapy for Zach. Great Doctors and Child Physiologists at CH. I feel for the first time someone understands us.

Wife; Thyroid problems big time. She's mentally a physically fatigued from raising Zach.

Starcraft; Sadly neglected and underfunded.

Bwana Don: Barely able to pull myself down to the boat dock to go fishing.I should have 30 fishing trips under my belt but barely a dozen. NO smallmouths over 5 pounds, a slew in the 4-4.5 range. Nothing for the wall. Little man got a master angler award for his redhorse sucker though. Zach made his first trip on lake St. Clair, smallmouth bass are now his favorite fish. Bought a grain grinder and Kitchenaid mixer. Learning to cook gluten free (autism diet), so much fun.:(

I hope the Brotherhood of the Rising Star is doing ok. I've missed you guys, just been in a funk as of late. Oh yea Brother has been having some health problems maybe serious, I don't know. Next door neighbors/best friends lost the house, moving next month.

I read where Jason's Mom has cancer. I'll start praying for her. Peeked in his Islander thread and this is what I see.

Does anyone have any good news??

Re: I'm still alive, barely.

Sorry to hear about your wife and son. Hope them the best. My son has Aspergers, a form of autism, and I just got back from his wedding. Well sort of. He was supposed to get married on June 21st, big church wedding, but the half way chickened out. Got married on May first without telling anyone, but a couple of close friends. Your wife needs to get some pills from her doctor (like synthyroid) My daughter was born without one, and my new daughter in law is having problems with that. They really need that for fatique, mood, weight gain, and basic mental function. I haven't made it fishin yet this year, and usually I'd have made at least 4 trips after kokanee, and a couple after trout. Fishin will still be there, but it's good to get away and relax some. 3 1/2 years and I can do that a lot more. Hoping to get my Starcraft wet next weekend, or the one after. My poor Crestliner is feeling awful lonesome tho. Haven't done anything to it yet this year. Keep the chin up, things will get better some time.

Re: I'm still alive, barely.

Wife had radiation and is now on synthroid. She has monthly trips to the Doctors for monotoring her levels. She actually has Graves.

Congratulations to your son. I hope mine progresses to the the point he can hold a job and get married. Time will tell, sometimes you can't tell he's autistic other times it's like, wow.

I'm feeling a little sorry for myself right now and that's so out of character for me. When you see your loved ones hurting though it really gets to you.

Re: I'm still alive, barely.

Don,

Glad to hear your hang'in in there. Think of you and your family often, and continue to keep you in our prayers. Glad Zach is a smallmouth convert!

I'll share some good news! Not bragg'in - just shar'in.

Have had a tremendous Salmon season on the east side so far. Won several tourney's with 1st place finishes, cash, prizes, and was named "Top Gun" team on Huron for 2011! Couple newpaper articles, radio interviews & MI Out-of-Doors TV.

My 75 yr old dad came up for his annual smallmouth trip on Lake St, Clair end of May. Boated over 300 smallies in 4 days, caught 25 fish over 21 inches, and a couple of lip tags. Best season in a while. Sent him back to KY with worn out shoulders!

Have been slack'in on my Starcraft too, but getting ready to hit it big time.

Offer still stand for that pick-me-up cup of coffee sometime if you want. Panara is not that far away from ya, just let me know!!!
