5 guys is just alright. But it's about 10 bucks for a burger and small fries.

I've never really understood the issue here. I do it all the time (and have caught grief). Once a person switches to diet soda, they pretty much stick with it across the board. I no longer like the taste of regular soda at all. Much too sweet. Plus a greasy burger is one thing, a giant cup of pure sugar is quite another. (I ordered three slices of pizza once and a diet coke and caught hell for that :p)

Moreto me as I drink little pop, I figure if you are eatting high calorie food what is another 300+ for a regular pop. I drink Ice Tea with little sugar, can't stand sweet tea, so understand taste always find it funny when they gorge on food but have a diet coke like it will make a differance.

No In n Out in Midwest (or MN that I know of) but have aten when I lived in Cali. 5guys is recently new to our area but is also comparable to FiveGuys. I would say I like the 5guys fries better.

Culvers is every bit as good anyway.

I wish I could get into diet soda, I just can't get used to it. I'm an oddity I'll order a burger, salad, and a regular coke, I just don't care for french fries.

I had my first Culvers a couple months ago, Tasty! Their fries are better than In-N-Out too.....

The BEST burgers I've had have come off a camp fire. I don't know if it's the years of "mystery stuff" built up on the fire pit grate or if anything tastes good when you are out camping. But I haven't tasted a better burger than a camp fire burger.

I guess this is getting off subject as Culvers and campfires are not In-N-Out or 5 Guys....

The best burger I have had recently is actually at the country club I belong to. They have a great bakery and make these amazing buns. Totally unhealthy but mighty tasty!

Also getting off the subject...

I used to be a big diet soda drinker. I have tried to cut out diet soda these days as research shows that its really pretty bad for you. I still drink it occasionally but don't drink the 4 or 5 cans a day that I used to. Maybe once or twice a week. There are studies that say that that artificial sweetners actually make you hungrier!

That's the aspartame they put in. It's lethal and should be outlawed. But it's FDA approved so it must be safe.

In-n-Out Urge is in Las Vegas, but no 5 guys, In-n-Out people are way too polite and accommodating. How do the do that with the youngsters? They could have a business in the training method alone.

The restaurant is located between two U.S. military bases. Rhein-Main and Wiesbaden. Any time I was there almost all of the patrons were U.S. military.

wow....is that every cheap?...$3.25? thats way less than real food. Up here, those would be pushing $6-$8.
We don't have either of those burger chains up north here to my knowledge...but we do have Denny's, which is well known as a bit of a high calorie, grease pit.
Having reached the ripe old age now of 50 and in good health, and given their cholesterol and calories, etc I try to limit my burgers frequency to one every few months and then we usually have them in a party/bbq event.
I have to agree with JB's comments that this type of food as any weekly lifestyle or frequency is definitely not worth it.
A friend of ours is a nurse/nutritionist and she says she recommends the rule of having at least a dozen salad type meals or equivalent between any meal along the 'burger' lines, and try to avoid the fries. Seems like good advice to keep out the Heart Attack race.

5 Guys is just another burger. There is just something great about In-N-Out.
