Re: Is it just me?
Well to all of you who know me, and for the ones that don't! Before I made my first post to find out what was the best way to find and diagnose my OB, I looked at all the threads that related to my individual issue. After I felt confident what the problem was, I ordered required parts. Being I am mechanically inclined, I Followed instructions that came with new parts. Thirty minutes later, OB was purring like it never has since day 1, saving me about a $300.00 on a $25.00 part at my local marine dealer. Even though I am not a professional marine mechanic, I have done all repairs on mine and others. I am sure that you would all agree, that iboats has a lot of valuable information for the do it yourselfer such as I and you. But with today's economy and the price of labor, most people simply can't afford to pay high prices charged for such repairs. I think Clint Eastwood said it best. A man or woman, has got to know there limitations! I am sure that if someone was to ask me how to do something, I wouldn't throw them to the wolves if I couldn't answer there questions. Some people just can't get it while others can. My job is to be of maximum service to my fellow man (or woman) if that's what you are? I don't mind helping anyone as long as they return the favor back or someone else in need of help. Anybody that tries to do brain surgery on themselves really is a complete idiot,(and there are some of us that will try) I won't waste my time with them. You can usually tell by the post that they leave. Instead, if you come across one of those, just simply move on to the next post. You may never know how much help and valuable incite you might be able to give someone! Just pass on to the next person what you have learned! Happy Boating!
