RE: 1975 Chrysler 90 HP 3-cylinder, Motorola ignition.
With the spark plugs out, carbs and intake off of the motor, motor in forward, neutral or reverse (doesn't seem to matter), I rotate the motor, using a socket on the flywheel nut, and can feel (12) places in one revolution where there is a slight resistance. It's equally spaced at 30 degrees apart.
This is the first O/B I've ever worked on. I have no idea if this is normal or an indication of a problem. The lower end has not been removed yet and I'm wondering if these "bumps" are a bad impeller? The motor has not been used in a few decades.
Also thinking it could be a bad main bearing or some hardened fuel on the bearings.
The motor rotates freely otherwise.
Any ideas on this?
