There's only one thing more costly than a "Hole in the Water into Which You Pour Money" and that's a "Hole in Dry Land into Which You Pour Money". Erect a cross and leave it in peace. - Grandad

That looks a little like mine, but they gave it to me free. They actually begged me to take it. I felt sorry for it and let it follow me home.

Now it's a little happier that its drained and some of it cancer has been removed.

If you do want it, they should give it to you plus some.

RBMC,

Old boats (more than 10 yrs) are a real gamble. I just inquired on a '86 Wellcraft CC. It is in very nice condition externally, it's the unseen inner structure that is scary on a boat that old. If the transom core, stringers and deck are rotten on it, it would be just too big of a project for me to tackle at age 70. Plus I would probably have had to give $9500-$10,000 for it.

@ dan yes the picture is real. Needless to say if I had made the trip and found that when I got there I would have been a little upset with the guy.

I will post pictures this weekend when I get back with my boat. If it turns out its not worth messing with or it has major problems I could take it to the scrap yard and probably get more than what I paid for it just out of the price of metal.

Glad that I found this site. There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people willing to help.

So it's a tin boat  :)

Who's? Starcraft, LoneStar, Crestliner among many other good ones.... Vintage (pre-70's, mmy own arbitrary 'vintage' date)?
