That made me twitch when I read it. :) I did something similar a few days ago drilling into a sharp peice of sheet metal. It spun around made a big gash on my palm. Still deciding if I should go to the doctor. :p

One of these days I'll buy a pair of gloves...

OUCH, Hope you get better.. Sorry to hear that you got hurt.. I once got my hair caught in the drill press and that just about made the tears come out.. Also had a piece of wood get stuck in the plainer and it flew out and knocked the wind out of me..
Take Care...
Get better...

Hate it when that happens. :(

Left handed handgun? .357 or .44 Mag are pretty good up to 50 yards or so.

Hope for a quick and full recovery.

In high school I was helping my woodshop teacher cut some long peices of wood on a table saw. I turned my head for a second and heard a weird noise. He was laying on the floor squirting blood and his FINGER was still on top of the table saw. What a mess.

He almost has full use of it now. Still looks really creepy.

Can't figure out how to type what my mind is screaming.

Hope it heals well.

Can still go with a handgun or a crossbow, if you get the permit from the doctor.

Maybe you should consider wearing some tear away clothes, like the ones the guy was wearing in the Evinrude commercial, minus the fusia thong, unless you're into that sort of thing. :D :D

Re: it happened so fast

I shudder to think of how that must have felt. I know that these things happen quick.

It leaves me wondering but, what speed were you operating the drill press at? Were you using any sort of cutting compound? Did you drill a pilot hole first and slowly increase up to the desired size
It's workshop curiosity... I have done alot of stainless fabrication and am interested to know a few more details about what happened, maybe we can educate some others out there before another accident happens.
