DOOD! i almost blew up my boat motor today!i think i might have had water splashing up into the cowling, there was a ton of white sludge all inside. i almost cried
. that water temp seemed ok, after i got it hot. it was like the thermostat busted loose and started working, although my buddy who fixes boat motors at a real boat store, said just leave it out, the water is so warm here it dont matter.. dunno, i just left it in so far.. it ran alot better today until i was almost back at the dock, then it acted like i ran aground or something, the motor stumbled adn almost stalled out, then it wouldnt let me get over like 2000 rpm so i let it idle for a minute, then started easing it up there and then nailed it to wot. i guess some water got in there, i was scared, so i took compression after i got my boat loded BY HAND. i get to the deal, unload the wife and dog, back the truck down the ramp, jump in the boat and try to turn the key! nothing, so i was like *##&@#$! then i got it all home and took apart the contorls, and the yellow/red on some saftey switch (neutral) connectors were green with corrosion, replaced them and it cranked.. so compression cold was 140, 125, 140! that scareded me again, so i ran it and let it all warm up, then did got some more numbers, and it came up 125 across the board. whats the deal with the 140's i wonder, they are the top and bottom cylinder, so maybe there is something weird about it.. anyways, it still runs, but i have stomach hands. everything i touch turns to $hit!!!!
