Re: Let us try it this way!
Pointer, Pointer, Pointer, youre at it again!!

You throw WAY too much info out there hoping that everyone will just pass it by and think what a great post (right QC) it was. But, like Global Warming, you just cant get it right!

We also are not looking to assign blame for things that are clearly out of the presidents realm of control. Like say AT&T reaquiring its spun off subdivisions, or oil prices, or hurricanes, or terrorists, or misinformation/misinterpretation or lack of understanding regarding the war, or theories about man creating a warming of the planet or myriad other examples.
First, the Right tried to assign blame for everything on Clinton when he was in office. The economy was GREAT, inflation low, unemployment was VERY low. Clinton left office with over a 60% approval rating.
We dont blame Bush for hurricanes, just his lack of response to them. Yes, there is blame to go around, but most of it should be on the Federal Government. What misinformation/misinterpretation is there about the war? Its all been pretty much documented. Bush cherry picked the evidence and he had more intelligence then the Congress did.

Pointer said:
We are not interested in playing second fiddle to second rate socialistic has been countries like France.
One of the reasons my wife (conservative) doesnt like France is because she says that they are arrogant. Sounds like you are, too, Pointer.

We support our troops with our voices and actions regardless of how we feel about the war.
So do I and all Democrats and Progressives! To say different is just a bunch of BS!!! I was in the Marine Corp back when we lost 220 Marines, 18 Navy personnel, and 3 Army soldiers in Lebanon, so dont you or anyone else ever tell me that I dont support the Troops!!!

Pointer said:
We don't expect a limited government to be involved in redistribution of wealth.
You better hope that they are. If not, we will become another 3rd world country with little or no middle class. The progressive tax and Inheritance tax were put in place so that the accumulation of wealth would not create power centers of wealth, like we are creating today. Today, 1% of the people own 65% of the wealth in this country! Now, without a more progressive tax system and the Inheritance tax, that will surely go up. When that happens, how much opportunity do you think there will be for the little guy to succeed in America?

Pointer said:
We don't expect the police to protect and serve but to enforce the law.
Sorry, but that is idiotic. They are here to do all of that. Cant say anymore.

Pointer said:
We think most things are better run by private interests than by government beaurorocacies.
Turning things over to the private sector is great for true Capitalism, but we are not a true Capitalistic society. How about all the private sector jobs that WE are paying for in Iraq and Afghanistan? Paying cooks and people in support roles $70,000 100,000 dollars a year!!! Why not send over more troops to do the same thing at a much lower cost? I know that doesnt sit right with a lot of people, but it would save tons of money.

There was a city (Rush City?) in Minnesota that had a private company build and run a state prison after much support from local MN. Republicans. They thought that they would save money. Not true. First, when they built the prison, they used plain old cinder blocks!!! When the state builds a prison, it puts in rebar and fills in the holes with concrete. Then, all medical expenses were not part of the contract, so we paid for that. Plus, anytime a prisoner had to go to court (all the time), that again wasnt covered in the contract. So, we had to supply guards to transport them to court (or the hospital). After adding all that into how much it cost to run a prison, the state actually ran it cheaper then the private company!! Im sure we can both come up with more examples, but my point is to show you that it isnt black and white when it comes to Government or Private Bureaucracies.

Pointer said:
We think that reading, writing and arithmatic is what the school system is to teach.
What about Intelligent Design and prayer in public schools?!?!

Sorry, Pointer, again, youre going to have to do better then that!
