Re: LONE SURVIVOR
I had a purple ribbon pit when I was a kid. Buzz (Official name was Kenneth's Buzzsaw) was one of the better dogs I have seen or had. Whenever he was six months old my dad "bumped" him with an older pit. Unfortunetly the other dog didn't fair to well. I never can understand why he did that, it just helped to teach him aggression. The dog was a protector. Whenever it was time for one of us kids to get a spanking my dad had to chain him up. He learned this by trail and error. The ol man went to whuppin on me one night and the dog broke down the front door and my bedroom door and pulled my dad off of me and held him at bay for about ten minutes, the ol man wasn't gonna even think about moving till I got the dog put up. A few years later we moved to the city. We kids were playing hide and seek. My brother was running from another kid and came through the back yard screaming. Buzz seen this and caught the kid chasing him. he just grabbed onto the boys leg and held him till my dad got there. The kid ended up having to get stitches. We moved again, this time to a small town. The dog got taken off his chain one night (by someone not in our household) and they put him in a goat pen. I am guessing he started playing with the goats and then get tough with them. The kids that did this got scarred and told the goat ownwers about it. By the time they got there he had killed 15 of them. Buzz died that night. It hurt me forvever. I felt like I lost my parents when that dog died. He watched over me. Theres no telling how many snakes and coyotes that dog killed to keep me safe. I wanted to do the same thing to the kids that took him off the chain and put him in the goat pen.

I then got a beagle. Clyde was a trooper. Everywhere I went that dog followed me. True to life version of mans best freind. I finnally moved to the country where he could roam without fear. A neighbor (a real B**** too) caught him and give him away to somebody else. The real sad part about it is she caaled my mother in law after she did it and told her to tell me to come get the dog. She did this after she give the dog away. This was all in one days time mind you. I don't guess she ever figured out why she kept losing trashcans, they kept going missing every week for almost two years, she sure had a lot of money tied up in them. Aw, sweet revenge.

Fast forward 15 years. I am married now and my wife wants a rott. We find her one. Carla (official name was Carla Von Braun) was a queen. She eneded up weighing in about 130. Never aggressive, lap dog if there ever was one. She would slobber all over you, if you sat in a chair she would crawl up in your lap and there was nothing you could do about it. Believe it or not till she got about 100 pounds she was an inside dog. We decided to get another rott so we bought us a 2 month old male with good bloodlines. He was here 3 days and got sick. I didn't know it at the time but rotts are very suspectible to parvo. This pup brought it to our house. Pup died after one whole week of ownership, Carla died about three weeks and $500 at the vet later. Darn, another great dog I miss.

Current time. I have a boxer/lab that is tigerstripe/brindle. Rebel is a heck of a dog. A little hyper at almost a year old. He will occasionally knock the kids down, but only ought of love. He licks you to death. Always wants some one to rub his head or belly. He always stays by my side if we are in the fence, trying to shake hands. I have another dog that needs to go somewhere else soon. I call him my quarter dog. Rebel is his dad, his mother, who I used to own is rott/doberman. Sad part about these particular crooses is all of the granparents to this dog are pedigreed and papered dogs, they are just fence jumpers and like to do it too much. Diamond Dave is his name. It started out as diamond until he dropped his cohonies and I realized she was a he. He is a fine looking dog. I waited to long to clip his tail and now I don't wanna spend the money at the vet. We didn't clip his ears either because either look just like a boxers, kinda short with a little flap hanging over. He has rott markings. No other colorations at all, almost perfect looking markings too. We are looking for a good beagle for the girls. They are 8 and 2 so it will fight them just right. My mom raises MinPins so we may end up with one of those, I sure hope not.

Dogs as a rule act the way you treat them. If you want them to be mean they will. Some dogs are naturely aggressive, but they tend to be the best protectors too. Treat them right and they will treat you right. Don't show attention to them, don't feed regular, etc and you will probably end up with a dog you can't stand.

How in the worl did I ever type this much, the carpel tunnel is killing me right now

Edit: Had to clean up my misspells
