Mike you must be in H E double hockey sticks over this decision. We'll make it easier on you. Let Myself, Jas, NB, Barato, and CBK mull this over and we'll tell you which way to go. After the pow wow then Jas will do the Vulcan thingy on the owner, guarantee the price will be nice.

You can catch up on your sleep, relax and rest assured it will be the right decision. We're here for you buddy.

If I may add something, no one like's riding in the cabin.....unless it is rough and they are getting soaked or they are sea-sick. Of all the people I know that have a small cabin boat, no one enjoys riding in the cabin, especially kids, they want out in the open air. Now if you had a 30 ft sedan with wide screen and satellite you could not keep them out!!

Just buy em both!! ;)

If that was my decision I would prolly go with the Chieftain, that is one sweet boat. The splashwell is a bummer, but you could always build up the transom and just mount a bracket. This would give you the huge cabin and prolly a little more deck space then the Islander.

Hey fellas, no updates to mention. Lots of thinking going on, seems like everyone likes both boats for the most part.

I agree with Jerry's idea, to bracket the Chieftain would be the ideal situation. Best of both worlds, big cabin and fishing space.

I need to put some cash into the SS project and get it finished, but I think I might make the trip way up to Escanaba in Feb or March.

If I make the trip up you know I will have the boat with me on the way back.:)
