Gotta say this is the most informative forum on the planet. So far it has helped me set up my trailer, set up dual battery setup, fix my bilge, make a decision on vhf, figure out which prop to use, get my engine straight, fix gel coat issues, restore my gel coat, secure my platform, chart out courses, it's like knowledge at your finger tips! Thanks again fellow boat lovers!!!!!

Cool  and thanks for the appreciation. There is also excellent non-boating help available here. A good mix of DIY and professional experience. Glad you like it!!

I was editing for a few minutes after, maybe it locks quotes out while doing so. Kinda makes sense, so I am sure that's not it

Wanna come take a look at my bilge pump? I was trouble shooting it today and found a drain plug, # 22-806608 2 laying back there. I just posted on the engine forum to seek help. It IS a great sight, especially for nubie's that are really irritated trying to learn everything in a week and trying to get a used boat safe and trustworthy. This is the problems buying used.

Re: Love this forum!

this forum is pretty helpfull but since i'm starting to lean more on sailboats because there better. :) this forum helped me rebuild my boat and will help me fix my outboard to get my motor boat back on the water to get a bigger sailboat one day.
And talking about bilge pumps i got to my power boat the dead boat on the mooring still has a good battery bu we had a lot of rain. so when i wen tot he motor boat i found the thing on its side and it doens't turn on when it's on it side. so there was about 6-7 inches of water. And when running the pump got cloged twice with a leaf and i'm not sure what the other thing was.

@the teacher plug may be from when it was winterized. Try putting it back in. May have to clean it if corroded. Does it work? If not check for an inline fuse or corroded connections. Make sure you have voltage coming in. Next check the switch. You can ohm that out too. If all is good so far, replace the pump. Hope this helps.

I agree with all--I have been around boats for awhile--but just recently got my own. Just from reading through posts my trips to the lake have been hassle free (even with my wife along) This is forum is a must if you own a boat :)
