So my wife and kids woke me this morning to tell me none of the hot water faucets in the house are working. I checked and the pipes on our roof actually froze! They're thawing now & hopefully they won't be broken.

Most importantly- I haven't winterized the boat yet since it's Southern California & a couple of boat shops have told me I shouldn't really worry about it here. A few days ago I figured maybe I should anyway, so I took it home from storage. Well, last night I put a little space heater and warming pad in the engine compartment & on the drive. I'm so glad I did cause it got into the high 20's at my place.

I'll be draining all the water from it today!

Where in So Cal are you that you got into the 20's? Only place I know that got that cold was up in the high desert.

Yeah, I'm with Bruce, where you at man? I'm at 1200 ft. and the low this AM was 33. Lowest since this snap began. We freeze a couple of times a year, but I never winterise. 10 minutes below freezing doesn't magically overcome 23+ hours above . . .

Big Bear is also in So Cal and the low this AM was 3 degrees, different story at 6900 ft. . . .

Here in Central NY its in the mid 40's for the next few days. :)

I'm in Pomona. I went out last night around midnight and the thermometer was at 29. We have a brick walkway in our backyard that was slick with ice and our drinking fountain is frozen solid. My sister was on her way to work this morning and heard that there's black ice on one of the freeways.

I used to work in Big Bear as a fireman and the coldest I remember it was 16. We had a Christmas party and parked the engines outside so we can set up tables & chairs on the apparatus floor. It was so cold we had to leave all the engines and the truck idling so the sight tubes, pipes, & tank water didn't freeze.

Mid to upper 40's in Central PA (highs, not lows) ... but if it is that cold in Southern Cali, QC, I am turning around and heading home! :p :D

By the way, a few hours of freezing temp won't hurt anything? I know that if we're in Fargo and it's 500 below then we have a problem. When I called Miller's Landing they told me they had one boat last year from Chino Hills (ironic) that had damage, but that was the only one they saw.

My wife actually likes this weather- she grew up in Alaska and misses it. In the summer, it's an awesome places, but the winter is too much for me.

46 here and starting to cloud up. Just got back from a bike ride around the hood. Saw one lemon tree with an electric blanket covering it. Thought that was cute :D

Dear God, please send us some global warming.

20's overnight won't hurt the inboard. The 30 below we see here will scatter cast iron all over the bilge.

Apple Valley, So-Calif. 7:30 this morning pool froze about 2" thick. Pulled plugs and drained everything about a month ago we still use boat local but redrain when we get back home. Man I miss summer......

Right now the temp is... . Feels Like: 50 ?F. :p

I have one of my windows open to get some fresh air into the house. :)

I might put on my boating cloths & sit here making boat motor sounds. :D

This must be global warming for us here in Newfoundland ,Canada. Usually it is about -10 deg celcius here this time of year but the forecast is for+ 6 deg. Cel tommorrow. This is the first Christmas in 36 years here it was green. We got about 4 inches on the ground now but it should be gone by weeks end if things don`t change. Snowmobilers hating the weather but us boaters are rarring to go! If this keeps up you warm weather lovers will be coming here for your vacations !!!!

Umm... currently (6:52pm) it's 73 deg here, high today was probably about 76-78. Going fishing tomorrow (72). But next weekend we won't get past 58F :(

Crazy weather here as well. Temps went to 12C (53F) here today and broke a record. Normal temps are about -6C (21F). Combined with heavy rains, all the snow has melted and the lake is now unsafe for hard water fishing. Overnight temps are supposed to drop to -9C (16F) so there will be alot of ice around tomorrow.

Supposed to be in the high 30's with the lows at 32* the next couple days here in Vegas...

Oh you guys are just breaking my heart! We haven't seen above-freezing temperatures since mid November and just came through back-to-back blizzards :(

It has been -16C (3F) for the last 2 days with a 25 MPH wind and the only boat work going on is indoors.

Oh well, only 5 months until spring LOL!
