We got sunburned yesterday and............Oh nevermind!

Umm... currently (6:52pm) it's 73 deg here, high today was probably about 76-78. Going fishing tomorrow (72). But next weekend we won't get past 58F

Feel so bad for you guys that I think we should take up a collection and send you both a case of sunscreen lotion

I'm a pretty big whimp when it comes to cold weather. But...we hit 105F in the summer, have a ton of smog, 5 million people within 30 miles, our lakes have graffiti and litter, and it takes 60 minutes to drive 5 miles on some freeways.

Hmmm...are there places for sale near you?

Negatives are not fun so don't be complaining. Lots of people I know are having issues with ice dams this winter.

So my wife and kids woke me this morning to tell me none of the hot water faucets in the house are working. I checked and the pipes on our roof actually froze! They're thawing now & hopefully they won't be broken.

Most importantly- I haven't winterized the boat yet since it's Southern California & a couple of boat shops have told me I shouldn't really worry about it here. A few days ago I figured maybe I should anyway, so I took it home from storage. Well, last night I put a little space heater and warming pad in the engine compartment & on the drive. I'm so glad I did cause it got into the high 20's at my place.

I'll be draining all the water from it today!

We're upside down on our mortgage. We'd love to go to Oregon or Washington- they have most of what we like doing. We planned on moving when I retired & now that I'm finally retired and make enough that I don't have to work, the housing market put the brakes on moving for now.

Hope you like rain! I was out at 8:30 golfing on New Years day and it was close to 60 degrees by the time I finished. My friend that lives in Seattle is moving down here once she retires. Maybe you guys can trade houses.

For one day, and three days later the low overnight was probably 62 . . . You CANNOT beat So Cal weather . . . Globally!!! If anyone wants to challenge that please post a specific City The closest I have found is Perth Australia and maybe some European Mediterranean City like Barcelona or Nice. In the case of Perth, go for it. In the case of Europe well, let's not let this get Political

Maybe, but I'd suggest that is a huge exaggeration. I have been to major (and minor) cities all over the US and Globe and EVERY City has traffic issues during commute hours. We have our traffic problems for sure, but from your house you can be to the Pacific Ocean on a surfboard or have your skis on in the snow in 45 minutes . . . deserts and 10,000 ft. mountains too. Also you can be on the Colorado River in 3 hours and fly anywhere on the Planet from LAX which is also magically 45 minutes away. Add those qualifications to my weather comments and there ain't no place like home . . .

As far as smog is concerned, that has really improved over the last 40 years, but I'll give you that one. A result of the weather phenomenon again. Temperature inversion causes uniquely comfortable weather, add people and their waste to the temp inversion and voila . . . smog.

Sorry, I have to stick up for the place once in a while. It get's so beaten up. Anyone that watches the Rose Bowl gets part of the truth every year.

Nobody has mosquitos like Alaska- that's the air force up there. My wife & one of my kids looked like they had the chicken pox from feeding the mosquitos in just one afternoon.

The Miami humidity would be a bummer, but I still would like the Oregon area. I've been in CA for almost 40 years and it's time for a change. We'll miss Disneyland the most, we go 3-4 times a month with the kids. I welcome the rainy weather if it means I can go mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, & camping in such a nice area.
